Went out for some logs and realized that I have had my wideband calibration wrong the whole time I have worked on this project... I reset for the correct AEM cal and did some fueling work, it was actually pretty close before I futzed with it.
I did get one 5th gear pull though. I think the power spike in the previous graph was an artifact from hitting a bump doing a 3rd gear pull. The 5th gear looks a lot more... plausible. |
I felt like the car was a little down on power, so I hit the drag strip. Naturally I broke a couple small things, but the engine has been flawless. What think? Down on power for 19 psi on a .86 a/r gt2860?

Power? No you're not down on power. 113 trap for 280 is actually good IMO
You're definitely down on spool and lowend, and 19psi is kinda high boost for only 280, but you already knew that. What's the spark map look like? or post a pic of log showing timing curve. Maybe you're really low on timing |

You've a built engine, unless you're pinging/knocking with more timing, that's way too low and you need to crank that baby up to at least get some of your torque back

I'd just get the most out of this setup as is if I were you. If you're spending 1200+ on a turbo replacement might as well sell this setup and go TSE mani + 6758efr and make like 400 on this same map and boost level

0.64 will be a good difference. Or maybe even go with a s15 spec turbo? Sounds like you're more consumed with low end street torque than top end bits.
And if you want both, EFR is the way to go. |
probably the cheapest approach at this point would be to pick up a cheap used 2560 and just run #ALLOFIT

You'd still be able to make 275whp-300whp but have at least 200wtq by 3krpm.
Sounds like the cheapest option that'll be even more fun on the street for your use. |
