I see you are running X98.
How corrosive is it? I am wondering if it can be left in the fuel system for reasonable lengths of time like E85 or not? Obviously filtration is key as is a good maintenance program, but there seems to be very little information around on the fuel? |

Well... He has a good point... The turbo is already hanging from the manifold so why make a crane.... Supporting it from the bottom as he suggested makes sense....

The MSM is a perfect example of this on a cheap car:
turbine housing has a mounting point cast in it there is a thick steel bracket bolting to it and the block. cheap and effective. no need to over think it |

I did think that once, then I analyzed an Alpha12 turbo kit (in hand) and they have nicely machined brackets to do the same thing in the same location. I wouldn't hesitate with turbine housing mounted solid bracing.

My 2 cents:
The longer the tubes, the more they will grow with temps, the worse a rigid brace will be. There's also harmonics at play. AMS V6 stiff cast stainless relatively short tube manifold ≠ bp weld elbow'ed long runner manifold. |

Yeah I bought this car in June of 2011. Got married in it in June of 2013 in the middle of an epic 3 week road trip around the US.
Sold it to @vteckiller2000 after that, he took great care of it. He sold it to this dude... and then this happened. |
Yeah, watching this guy post about this car on various miata fb groups was really amusing especially because he went dead silent about his build at some point and then started posting his car fs everywhere. Didn't see him post a single time slip either, but the car supposedly ran when he was trying to sell it.
Then he parted everything because no one was willing to pay his ridiculous asking price for an unfinished project. |
I drove it at MATG 2016. It was a dumpster fire. Flat out dangerous and had no business being out there.
|
they call us haters. they tell us we're closed minded. elitists. and then 99% of them end up EXACTLY how we predicted and the world moves on.
there's a lesson to learn here. but I'm too old to remember |
He's still talking himself up on Facebook groups....
At least his thread title was on point... |
Ooh that reminds me
|
Wait is this the guy that was boasting somewhere in Miata Club/FB about buying a miata, dumping 13k into it only to part it out?
