I know this is a weird place to put this and I hope it's ok? I mean no disrespect at all so just let me know if I have crossed the line... My intention is to help people and not be disrespectful. I know I could have used more information... This thread helped me out SOOOO much when doing my swap but obviously there is still way more to learn in a swap

With Facebook taking over these forums, I had a really hard time finding information on a lfx v6 swap. It seems little is scattered here and some in other places.

I made a group on Facebook for this reason. If I can help anybody with anything, just sign up for the group and I will do what I can. I hope it can be a place where we can organize information for this swap and make things a bit easier.

This isn't a critique of your suggestion - it's a critique of the facebook platform.

There are some deeper philosophical thoughts about facebook (beyond zukerburgness) as a forum replacement - on one hand, it does add immediacy of replies - but you also suffer from idiocy of the masses, facebooks walled garden, and virtually nonexistent search function. Discord works as well as a "real time" platform, but again fails for archival purposes and search. As a member of various miata groups on facebook the number of times I reply to a question with a link to mt.net miata.net or clubroadster thread is staggering. My regional forum (mx5atlanta) has all but died because of facebook groups and it has made me very sad.

I'm glad people are finding this thread useful - and encourage more people to post their builds and share their failures and triumphs so we can all learn from each other. mt.net has always been a tough crowd - but the higher standards help filter the signal to noise.

Nope, I am totally with you on the forum vs Facebook thing. 100%

Forums are a WAY batter way to get information out and also store that information. The problem is that Facebook is too convenient for people and it's moving to the point where everything and I mean everything is moving there. I resisted for years, told people it's a horrible idea but at some point, I think you have to accept where things are going? I hope I am wrong and I hope people will find their way back to forums. As of now, most of the info is so spread out and if you want to believe it or not, most is already on Facebook, it's just hard to find.

Oh, btw, you can search within groups on Facebook for info. It can be a great resource because there is a ton of information and my hope is that some day all the face book info will be categorized so it's easier to search. That is the idea behind my group, post all swap info in one group and then you can search it. Right now, I have to search hp tuners group, v6 Camaro group, etc

So, if my group helps, awesome, if not, we will figure it out, or not.

Thanks for understanding why I posted that and thanks again for putting all the information out that you did.
