oh never mind, C3m is 15x9 only. C1m is 15x7. K8r is 15x9, under 13 lbs, and on sale on tirerack at $105/wheel.
I'm a bit annoyed because I had made a deal with someone on here to buy their wheels when I came home to visit my parents for the holidays. He sold them 3 days before I got here even though I'd offered to give him a deposit to show I was serious about grabbing them. I'd factored in the realm of 500 or so for 'new' wheels/tires. A new set of tires for the current crappy wheels would run about 300 bucks after mounting/balancing. I figured I'd just spring for a set of used wheels that were lighter, though not perfect, since they came with good tires and would cost less than getting new tires on my current wheels. Worst case scenarios. I can get take offs for the two tires I need if I can't find anything I need by them. I'd prefer not to have to spend 800 bucks on wheels and tires...I had pretty much what I'd wanted in my price range but the deal fell through. I'm sure something else will turn up again... Or so I hope. TLDR: Deal through MT member for 15x8 konigs fell through when he sold them even though we'd made a deal for me to pick them up when I came home to visit for the holidays. In light of that and needing new tires I figured lighter wheels which came with decent tires were a better deal than spending the same amount of money on my shitty wheels. Figured I could sell what I had bought if I found a decent deal later. In a perfect world I'd buy the konigs new, but 800ish for wheels+tires is a bit much to stomach. Still mulling it over. |

That's not so bad. The konig dial ins or whatnots are on sale on amazon for about 100 each, but they only have one wheel left right now. I'll have to figure it out.

Keep watching for used but... The new setup is still cheap for a set of quality wheels and tires. |

In all seriousness I kinda like the ND wheels. For $300 with tires I'd do it in a pinch as long as you realize it's not really a high performance setup and you'll need something better later.

That said, it's cheaper than tires and I'm sure I could sell them for a reasonable amount after using them for a bit. More so than the avids. |
Definitely. If you're looking at it like you're just buying tires, but will have wheels to resell when it's over, it's not a bad way to go. Pretty narrow though.
Re-reading, if you could get those avids with the DZ102's for the same money, i'd go that way. it'll perform better. |
15x8 is the best miata size, 400 seems like a steal for those like new Direzza's. Are they star specs or dz102's?

Mother effer. 15x8 dude just bailed saying someone offered him 450. I hope he gets stood up lol.
|
You weren't committed to him, why should he be committed to you? A better offer is a better offer.
you can always just click the button on the computer. New wheels are so satisfying. |

Buying the ND wheels would mean you'd get it over with, but it wouldn't mean you'd be done with it. It'd mean you're done with it for the moment and you'd have to revisit it later when you want real rolling stock.

Some people cant take a little sarcasm.. jeez

Here's what the ND wheels look like on an NB chassis. Way better than I thought tbh! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...1bd5b27f29.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...ff168243b2.jpg Small chance that those might be the 17's? Finish looks different for sure.

In other news, bought a roll bar when I went to visit my dad. Got home and realized that the reason I couldn't figure out which HD bar it was, was because the PO had modified it. Seller was just parting out a car. This is the bar: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0927096400.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0768925591.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...8f6219fa12.jpg Looks like the original owner modified the bar and added the center bar... Is there any reason this would hurt the integrity of the bar? Looks like the weld is a bit rusty, but I don't think they went through the bar they welded onto. The plates used to install the bar were a bit rusty too. I'm halfway between sanding and spraying them and using them, or just going to home depot and getting some plates and having them cut up to fit. |
Sand, paint, on to the next project.

Wheels look damn good on an NB!
