DIY hood vent
Thanks Chris for the vent...
Marked the center with tape to take all my measurements of it
Taped all around the template I made out of thick paper
Cut the top layer first
Then I cut the second layer
Finished result

Yea it's bolted down... I took the vent to the store and checked what size I need it, they were 4mm ones... I don't know if it was cause today was warmer but my ait's were about 15* hotter

^^^ Yea I'm gonna try it tommorrow... I don't see how the vent would affect the IC negatively...I thought the air would go through the IC, radiator and then out of the vent.... I think I'm also gonna tape so strings to the vent to see if the air is actually coming out or being sucked in

Either way I doubt im gonna take it out since I already hacked my hood up but yesterday I was at 14-16*C and we beat our cars pretty bad and today normal cruising I was at 24*C

Looks good man. Sorry to hear its working the opposite way than you want it to though.
My gills on my hood are in that area, but I always looked at them as more of a heat extractor when the car is sitting. I don't think they really offer much more than that, besides looks. Don't forget, they also let water spill all over the turbo and intake manifold.
The big vent on my hood is where I assume all the air is pushed out of.

Be optimistic about it....at least its pulling cool air in right over the turbo....also at a stop it is DEFINITLY functional as a heat extractor. (sitting at lights, traffic, idling as you BS with people - I do this alot etc)
I was going to try it on my car today as well, but had no string. Not sure if my giant hole in my bumper will make any difference with the functionality of the vent, probably not... I bet our naca ducts do **** as well, string that thang!
I guess this is why they have wind tunnels, but who gives a ****, it looks good!
*EDIT - I take back what I said on the naca duct....I was just reviewing a few logs from today and I noticed on average my IAT's drop a solid 5* (10* in some instances) when accelerating and at cruising speeds vs when at a stop and/or slow speeds
