Not a big update or anything, but after all this time I finally got around to fashioning a top for the scrap heat shield. The diamond plate Al scrap was courtesy of Thirdgen. I got to justify finally buying a jigsaw with this project and that's always a good thing.

I think it looks pretty good. Better than a license plate or half a cooking pot.

Surprised that I didn't find this thread a while ago. This is very similar to my project. I hope to have numbers similar to yours!
