Frikkin Wingman gets cool LEDs to flash around when he hits redline... I figured I should probably do the same.
I made a more detailed post in the other thread I have going about the gauge, but I basically found a smart LED strip that allows me to do some cool things with the gauge I've been building. 8 RGB LEDs that can be controlled individually to indicate sensor values, flash warnings, etc...
I've basically got them to ramp in more LEDs and shift from green to red as the current sensor approaches it's high limit. They flash if you're at or above the limit. Don't mind the hacked up housing. I need to modify the design to hold the LED board and allow the wires to pass through. So far it's promising.
Also, I played around with the shifter today while I was driving around. I really don't notice a difference in noise if I press down on it (simulating a weighted shift ****), pull back, push forward, etc... I do think it's worth pulling it apart and inspecting things though, so I'll do that if I have time this weekend.
