Default Shooting for the Moon

Hey everyone! This is mostly for my own sake.

I'm on my 4th miata and this one I actually get to do what I want!

I picked up a 2002 this time, my first vvt, 125k~ miles but.... Its rusty. However my ultimate goal in the end this is a mute point. It has however a newer top, roll bar, and maintenance. But now to the fun part!

I have already a full begi kit, manifold/downpipe/intercooler.
MS3X bought from here built by the legend himself.
Got myself an Amazon special turbo for the meantime.
deatschwerks Injectors and fuel pump.
LC2 wideban.
Reroute.
and some other odds and ends.

With the shut down etc going on closing all the SCCA races i thought i might as well tare into turboing it.

Im excited to finally get my turbo miata and end goal is exocet.
Gonna be FUN!

Started ripping apart my car for the ms3x install.

o2 came out easy, got the vacuum line done and through the firewall.

However I cant for the life of me get the wideband wiring through the firewall. I tried the grommet on the drivers die and it just wont go. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it but I'm sure ill figure it out.
I have also included a random picture of the engine bay as i was ripping into it.

I got the wiring done!

I finished everything as far as wiring goes etc and got the car to start! Very exciting. Going to set the base timing today and get started tuning after work.

Was tinkering on my lunch break, working from home right now, itll start jump to 3000, than it'll die. I still need to set the timing so im going to unplug the injector fuse and set it later tonight.

Super pumped.

Edit for tonight:

The car appears to be at the correct timing but the car still jumps into the high rpm than lower to 1200 or so and die. When its on fixed ignition it will idle around 1200 or so for a little longer than die. I'll try to get a log and confirm timing again. If anyone has any tips that would be great!

Car drives around now which is nice.

Just got a set of 15x9.5 konig free forms and some 245 RS3's ready to get mounted and balanced. Also have some Xida's on the way and will need to get those done before the extra wide wheels can be fitted. Gonna nab some pics with everything installed but I'm enjoying the learning process this far.!
