Interesting find. There are different sizes of the rubber grommets that mount on the top side of the fuel injectors. The small ones let the injectors push back from their bores and leak boost.

There were a few little leaks in a bunch of places I never would have found without this tester, but they weren't the actual problem. I love this tester and that it allowed me to find them.
Applying pressure to the tester with the key on and playing with the ebc settings let me determine the GReddy Profec Type-S wasn't always behaving in a predictable manner. The head unit is getting flaky. I did eventually determine that with the "gain" **** turned all the way down to zero the boost would hold all the way to redline like it used to when adjusted halfway up. And it didn't waver on the way up as much.
I went ahead and ordered a different wastegate actuator to switch from 8 to 14-16 psi for a base level. Because who ever just wants 8 psi? Maybe in the rain or something. It should make the boost control solenoid and the actuator not work so hard.
I may have to learn to use the onboard boost control in the MS3 Basic...

Slow Torture was a wonderful learning and development process for me. But now it has been sold.
I will be listing lots of parts in the near future that will be of interest to many, so stay tuned.

And for the track?
Lots of Miatas sold lately, I wonder why.
I brought mine back to my house 2 days ago and everytime I jump in it, I never want sell. But I guess time/life changes us and so do our cars.
Hope you can enjoy your next project and take a look in the forums from time to time

The reason I sold the car is I am physically unable to operate it at the level necessary to be safe and competitive on the track anymore.
I got injured somehow at work 3.5 years ago. Initial thought was brain aneurism, then cerebral spinal fluid leak. Tests were inconclusive. I was debilitated. I had constant horrendous headaches and an inability to lift anything heavier than a laptop computer for about a year. I spent huge money on trips to the Mayo Clinic for tests and subsequent injections all over my spine. Those treatments were the worst pain I have ever felt.
Being on light duty and trying to keep a job wasn't easy. I ended up changing jobs. Being on light duty for 3 years wrecked my strength. I still get headaches coming up if I exert myself too much, but I have improved over time. I can physically change a tire on my truck again now.
I have lost the physical strength and stamina, and the mental edge needed. The car is too fast for me. I don't need to go out like Dale Earnhart Sr. to realize I am in too deep. It was a tough decision, but it was the right one.
I will not be leaving the forum.

Damn dude, that is super brutal. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be to not get any conclusive results regarding what is/was going on. Sorry to hear that and hope you continue to recover. Glad you're not planning on leaving the forum, we all appreciate having you here.

Well, damn. I was hoping the exploding pen would do the trick, but I guess that's what I get for using surplus soviet explosives. You have been harder to eliminate than Peruvian mountain bedbugs. *

Capitalcrew came to the house yesterday to return my borrowed tow dolly. He said he is planning on moving from Florida to New York state in the next few months or so, if things work out. He said he drove the car on Road Atlanta and it was amazing. He said that the car and track are scary fast. He said he walked Marcus Lutrell's K-swap Miata on the straightaways like he was standing still.
He also said he would be selling the car, if anyone finds that interesting. 325whp, GTX2867R, BMW 6-speed, 3.63 gears, cage, air conditioning
, XIDAS, 11.75 brakes, 6pt harnesses, full dash and carpet, triple pass radiator, oil cooler, doesn't overheat on the track even in Florida heat.
