Anxious to see how the 245s fit the 9.5in wheel. Seems like a good compromise to fit big tires on a stock body NA.

I posted some pics of 245 RC1/9.5” on an NA earlier. Easy with race camber and a roll.

Had the pad sret up again for a couple customers, through the daily on it for fun. 2649lbs with me in it and a full tank. Soft top delete, but otherwise fully equipped NB2 Sport pkg w/ABS and BOSE. I am also about to add a hitch and bike rack, so I expect that to be ~2680 in a worst case scenario. LOL. The 900/500 Xida from Tia(the TT6 car) can't come soon enough, but that car is stored in the trailer at Midwest Miata Parts and it has been too wet/muddy to get to the trailer.

Snagged a set of of qually scrubbed 215/580/15 Hoosier S75 from a local FP racer. These will be what I use to attempt my essentially only remaining goal for 2020 track season, depending on schedule and COVID19 dwindling:
1:36 Gingerman
1:35 Mid O
2:14 NCM

I received my tire machines on Friday, and have been assembling, testing, playing with them over the weekend. This allowed me to get caught up on customer wheel/tire packages and get my 245 RRs mounted up. These will be my HPDE/warm up and ST5 tires if there are not enough participants for Hoosier contingency. I have 1.5 sets of sticker 205 R7s from last season's winnings to use in TT and populated ST races. Goal is to win a set of 225/45s and switch over at some point, probably 2021 at this point.

Long time friend/partner Midwest Miata Parts got another rusty na6 in for salvage, so I cruised down and pulled the dash out. I'll need a gauge hood and tomestone, so let me know if you have one for sale!

Always amazes me how clean the 1.6 dashboard looks.

Hopefully we'll get to see it lay down some fliers this year.

Yea, it really cleans things up in there. I did the same swap in my previous NA8, with a suede wrapped NA6 two tone dash. The racecar wont be nearly this nice though...

I still need an NA6 gauge hood and top third of a tombstone though! WTB!

I need to chop the tombstone up, but I have all the bits now.

R-speed has new open box guage hoods for good prices. They have been who I have been sending my friends to.

Rolled it back outside today to lay down the MAZDA decals and wash the interior to prep for paint.

First coat down. One more to come on the passenger side and parcel shelf. Drivers side is getting a Koolmat kit, so one is enough over there just to make it pretty.

Over half a gallon laid down so far. #ballast.

I did the doors today. I told myself not to so I’d be more inclined to buy a pair of composite doors, but Quarantine boredom is real.

Any reason you went with a roller and foam brush instead of rattle can or other medium?

Koolmat done. PITA, but after experiencing it in SPM shop cars, it’s amazing stuff.

Final mock up. Need to make a couple brackets to hold the dash in better so it doesn’t vibrate like crazy. Super stoked on how it turned out.

Yeeees destroy that minty tombstone for the racecar, make all the Miata preservationist fanboys cringe.

I was wondering why there was a belt retainer in the eyeball in some earlier pics, but now I see. Clever.

What all is going on the switch panel?

My list is getting pretty short now. Just TSE 11.75” Dynapro Kit, TSE fuel pump relay kit and a fresh AEM wideband install left.

Seat and harness are back in, and boys let me tell you, it feels great. I’d love to splurge on a fresh Yellow Schroth Profi 2x2 harness, but that will wait for a little longer

that paint looks really nice. I'll have to add it to my never ending list of "to-do's"

Quarantine has officially got to Dan: he is now sitting in his racecar making "Vroom Vroom" noises.

Always good to see the list get shorter. Keeps you motivated.
