Looking at the pic I'd wonder if the front is contacting the bumpstops in hard cornering, causing the front to washout. How much travel do you have left when it is that compressed?

0 toe would help with on power push, but the car is doing it a little in tun in, mid corner, and on exit. So I will try it for sure, I need a new alignment anyways, but I dont think that is the root of the problem.

I would assume not much if any. But this is t6, which is a very high vertical g corner. So im not surprised its so compressed. But ive heard from people driving behind me that it still has a lot of body roll.

George, did you use a 4x9 magnaflow in your exhaust? How does it sound? Does it pass sound at Laguna?

Its the 4x8x18 iirc. Its in my build thread somewhere. I REALLY like how it sounds for a street car. Zero drone, nice and deep, and not too loud. I should upload some sound clips soon.

But here is an outside perspective on sound, idk if that matters to you but here it is. all I have for inside sound is my track videos.

I searched through your thread and you didn't list a part number anywhere I found.

I couldn't find a 4x8. They make a 4x9x20 for sure though.

That sounds perfect, I just need to not wear ear plugs on the street anymore.

Ah found it, listed under race mufflers.

Thanks. I think the 4x9 might work better for me, but glad to hear the smaller magnaflow works.

Cool. Thanks for the info. After my wedding i'm going to buy like 4 magnaflows on amazon and see which fits best.

I think I can fit a 4x9 in the same place as my current muffler and keep the drivers side exhaust.

That was my goal as well, but I couldn't quite make it happen without modding some other stuff. and it would have looked weird too. I have a v-band so im gonna try messing with a smaller muffler as well, mabe even a full straight pipe. I can barely hear my car on track with helmet/wind noise, etc.

My trailer hitch gets in the way the most. I may have to cut a section out of the muffler to make it fit.

Its crunch time. I leave for Indiana in a week and a half. I need to get my e36 motor/trans/exhaust all hooked up (I just dropped it in a couple days ago). Then get it smogged (knock on wood).

If all goes to plan, I will have JUUST enough time to drop in the built motor for my miata too.

I ordered the 12.9lb twin disk kevlar clutch, TSE fuel pump rewire, FPR return adapter, FuelLab 818 40 micron fuel filter, DW300, Singular hood vents, radium AOS, and the banjo fittings for the AOS.

So far I have received the clutch, TSE fuel pump rewire, FPR return adapter, and Singular hood vents. The rest is still en route.

Just a bag a wires, a relay, and a fuse.

FPR adapter

Hood Vents

Even the packaging was nice.

Oh, I also painted the valve cover. I REALLY like this color (it looks better in person). But I need to find another color to fill in the lettering with to really make it pop. Any ideas? Im thinking a darker red. It will be the same color that I paint the VVT feed tube.

Did I ever mention I installed the reroute? Well I did.

My plan is as follows:
1. get e36 done
2. pull miata motor
3. drop in built motor
4. While hood is off, install vents
5. break it in
6. Install fuel system stuff
7. install rotary switch (for *****, meh, allofit boost)
8. dyno tune
at this point (im assuming I left for school. so the following 2 are for next time im back)
9. GM coils
10. retune to allofit

I like the vc just the way it is. Im not a fan of filled in letters. Maybe black for a classic look? Or a steel, if the letters have to match the other parts. Industrial.

Have fun in school, make the most of it (you probably will) its my biggest regret not to have gone to a 4+ year college.

I used POR15 red caliper paint on mine, applied with a syringe. Easy.

Im thinking I wanna do a metallic black. Any bright colors might look a bit out of place.

Bit of an update. I moved out to Indianapolis IN for school in August, so that's why ive been silent for a while.

GTA has really given me some motivation to get my car dialed in. I really want to get the car sorted as best I can before I bring it out here to Indy. I have no resources out here, so it just makes sense to get the car dialed in in Cali and then bring it out to Indy once I know its good to go.

I will be home for thanksgiving break. I have a track day booked for Nov 25th at Laguna, so im gonna have to hit the ground running to get the car ready before the track day. If I cant, then ill just take my dads car.

Im not sure if I mentioned it previously but something is bent on my car. I cant hit my camber targets in my car. Max is -3* on both sides which isnt enough. I need to be at -4/-4.2 in the front. So im thinking one of the LCA I installed was bent. They were not the same arms that I took off the car so thats the only thing I can think of that would cause the problem. If its not those then I have no clue what it could be. Subframe?

I ordered a set of delrin FUCA bushings and diff bushings from SadFab. So I will install the FUCA bushings when I tear the front end apart again. Diff bushings will go in with the built motor im guessing.

I also got a Nine Lives Racing Swan Neck wing through my work, since we are a dealer. So I will install that right after the front end is back together. The COT wing is sold. I will install the Singular hood vents at the same time.

I am in need of a fresh set of tires, so im waiting for cyber monday to roll around so I can grab a set of tires. Im thinking rs4s. They are apparently as fast as rc-1s but way cheaper so why not? It sucks the new yoko A052 doesnt come in miata sizes. I hear nothing but great things about it.

My hope is that all of the above changes will get me very close to where I want to be with the balance of the car.

Over christmas break the motor is going in. So I want to get the fuel system in the car first to make sure that is all good. I want to eliminate variables of the car not starting should that be case. So fuel system is first.

Next thing on the list would be the motor swap. After that I am taking it to get pro-tuned cuz I still have a limited understanding is whats required to unlock the full potential of what I have.

I miss this car so much. I just want to drive so bad. This is the last pic I took of the car before I left for Indy. I miss you baby.

So, I never touched the car over thanksgiving. I ended up taking my dads e90 m3 to laguna. It was...interesting to say the least. It was wet, so traction was non-existent. I have footage I should link for that.

In other news, I picked up this VF supercharged m3 for a steal. I luv it.

Im back in CA for the next couple weeks. So I need to put my head down and get the miata squared away. Tracking down the suspension issues are first on the list. Stay tuned.
