Whatever they did, the intercooler looks brand new. They added the iat bung for free, no additional charge. It looks like the intercooler was completely brushed and buffed. All the bugs are gone and fins are straighter than I remember. No dust in the end tanks and no sketchy bits after cutting and rewelding.

Bell intercooler. Not bad.

I'm seriously impressed. Didn't know quality parts were still made by anything bell, but then this isn't begi, this is probably run by someone else (who actually cares)

Bell Intercooler is a separate company from Begi/BellTuning. It is right next door to where Begi was/is. From what I understand Corky sort of owned a good portion of it, but had zero involvement with day to day operations.

Yup that was my understanding too. Part owner, and not involved at all, which is most definitely why it’s doing good

Are you sure it's not brand new? I mean, you've made that mistake in the past.

For those not privy to the inside joke. I sent my FM2 clutch to Competition Clutch. It was out of warranty and said nothing was wrong with it. I asked for my parts, they sent a brand new one. I sold a brand new clutch for the price of a used kit.

...and I ordered another full kit at discount to flip

I've been away in the inland northwest for work so didn't update anything for a while.

Before reinstalling the intercooler I decided to visit some wiring to help clean up the engine bay and start exposing the few areas that I want to tackle for some surface rust.

Not really a wire tuck since the relays and diagnostic box is still accessible. After positing the residual pressure valve question a couple weeks ago, I'll be installing the wilwood master I've been sitting on forever.

Then installing a new trackspeed radiator, figuring out ducting for the first time as well as whether or not my current fan will fit.

Then intercooler reinstall and go time. Break the clutch in and revisit the dyno.

I've discovered the versatility of 3M grip tape. The stock wiring makes me want to install Amphenol bulkhead connectors everywhere.

But for now I look forward to flying back home and getting some rest before heading up to New England. I wish I had more time with miata.

Got a bead roller since local fab shops wanted to charge me $150 to chop a pipe and roll it themselves.

Then spent 30 minutes at the dmv to update tags

In northern Virginia of all places where things like this don't fly. They refunded me $90 on my current up to date registration.

Hoping to button things back up and start breaking in the clutch.

Summit Point in April.

So I have a leftover SPAL 14" curved blade fan that nests perfectly in between the top and bottom rails of the radiator. PERFECT since there is a flat section on the fan itself. I am too stubborn and cheap to buy a smaller fan and my HO 12" is far too thick and naturally interferes with the sway bar. I'm going to try making a fan mount which will be mounted offset to the threaded bosses. It's probably overkill and thicker than sheet metal, but meh. Just trying. Can probably have it machined from lexan first then find some scrap aluminum.

Does anyone have convenient dimensions for the fan mount holes? Otherwise I'll measure it tomorrow.

Thanks dude. Instead of a rigid plate i may explore some mounting ears or step if this where to be made of sheet metal.Mit needs to be recessed a bit for clearance but there should still be a gap off the fins for a rubber seal
