I'm not aware of any particular problems with the Stant, but I will say that I had two, yes TWO generic autozone/O'Reilly thermostats stick closed on me a while back. I switched to a NAPA superstat (which I believe is a rebranded stant) and never had another problem.

Curly can you please elaborate on the fail status of the stant superstat? Every thread on various miata forums about this thermostat says it is a good replacement or alternative to oem. But there really isn't a good source on it, so i would love to hear what you have to say.

Did the video post correctly? Did you watch it? It's not an uber fail, the thermostat works, however it opens a little less and a little later than advertised if I remember correctly. Also takes longer to open.

Really it was just an excuse to post an awesome JP video.
