Well honestly now, I kinda want to tune it. Is anyone still willing to help me get it tuned?

Todd did you get my message?

I'm not necessarily against selling it though either.... I don't know that I would trust driving it around until it's tuned. It would probably need to be tuned 1st. Do you know how to tune? No offense, but if not, you may want to learn about tuning some 1st, as this is how I got into this mess in the 1st place!

I gotcha. I've done a lot of work on cars but when it comes to tuning through the computers on my cars and bikes, I know my limitations. I use Corey Henderson at Henderson Performance in New Braunfels. He knows how to build power under the curve but keeps things pretty conservative, which I like.

Anyhow, your car sounds like what I've been looking for--an occasional daily driver that I can use for track days at Harris Hill Raceway and also for an autocross now and then--but I would need to do a fly-in, drive home deal and would hate to do the car harm if the tune was that far out. My thought was that, if I bought it, I would talk to Corey about stopping at his shop and tuning it on the way home, but you can tell me if you think it could make it that far safely.

Goop, BTW, I tried to reply to your PM but it wouldn't let me because my post count is too low. I'm tied up tonight but will give you a call tomorrow during the day.

Does everyone not read!

I never said i beat one.

I said his 2004 busa only pulled 2 1/2 from 70 to 130 mph.

We all know a bike will kill you from take off. and the miata runs out of rpms at 130.

Learn to read......

And don't question my bike experiance. I've had several modified liter bikes. I used to buzz through traffic 170mph + on 635, 35, I20, Loop 12 & etc.
I just decided I was too crazy on them, and knew it was time to throw in the towel for a roll bar!

Goop, I've had family in town and working this whole weekend. When are you free?

We can tune it fast.
But someone else will have to help you with temp corrections. Hustler offered assistance aswell. I think he has his worked out.

I'm off MON & Tues.

Well I've decided to get the car tuned for now. I'm wondering should I just get the current setup tuned or should I switch it so I have stock computer so I don't have to mess with tuning BUT lower PSI?

Right now I'm thinking to work with Todd on changing to stock computer with lower psi so I don't have to tune now and then tune again when weather changes. I just need to get the Bipes timing unit and FMU. Todd has the other stuff needed. Any thoughts?

Default Have you definitly decided to keep it?

Your car seems interesting. Please let me know if you change your mind and want to sell it.
I'm in So Cal and would have it picked up and delivered to someone who specializes in tuning.
A couple questions:
Any chance that it could be made to pass Cal smog?
Does it even have a Cat. converter?
Any idea of what it MAY cost to get it to the point of making it more reliable and not necessary to tune all the time?
Were their any pics posted?
Thanks

I haven't updated this thread in awhile and just wanted to let everyone know I am deciding to keep the car (at least for now lol).... Todd has been helping me a great deal in helping swap the parts to get it running again! I will have a Megasquirt computer available for sale most likely next week after swapping the computer. I can't wait to get it running again where I don't have to worry about tuning it really!!

Default Back up for sale

BACK UP FOR SALE!!!!

I'm tired of having it still sitting in my garage haha so its back up for sale. I upped the price a little bit because I got some more work done on it and I want to at least get more of what I paid out of the car.

What I changed was switching out the megasquirt ECU for begi/fmu system for an easier tune (it should still get around 8-12psi). I will sale WITHOUT the megasquirt and new setup for $5000 OR WITH megasquirt setup for $5500.

It doesn't need much work at this point. It needs fuel injector gaskets, MAYBE (not sure) a new battery, and tuning of the megasquirt or tuning of the begi. I say it needs injector gaskets, because I changed injectors and tried to use different gaskets and lost 1 and when I started the car, fuel was leaking from them. It also needs a little tubing to better connect air filter to turbo. Thats all I know of it needs at this point and there are no other changes on the car other than whats listed above. Its been in my garage this whole time.

Please let me know about any serious inquiries or requests.

Just install an APex-i silver color, tune with that and call it a day.

For such injectors and small displacement engine is a breeze to tune.
Besides the price seems high for 1.6...

no, it needs some work... gaskets for the injectors put on, 1-2 hoses put on air filter, and other stuff put together, and tuning it... it is little stuff. if you do that, then i dont see why you couldnt drive it there
