I understand that part. You'd be an idiot if you did.

But now look at how much time you've wasted due to it.

PayPal for a down payment is fine. If the remainder isn't in cash.....you're doing it wrong. IMHO of course.

I hope it works out for you and the guy next in line pays you cash money rather than dick you around with e-checks. I ******* HATE when a buyer sends me an e-check.

I agree, as long as you had the money....transferred from paypal to your checking account. I would have no problems. You definitely made the right move to take the car off the trailer.

Now raise the price to keep the resale up for the rest of us.

Stop taking paypal payments in general. Have you seen the new reporting laws? Paypal has to report to the IRS if you receive either 200 payments and/or +$20,000 at the end of the year. They will consider that income. That last groupbuy I did with Reverant, I collected nearly $10,000 in payments alone. That would have fucked me considering I was collecting payments for Reverant and forwarding him the funds after I made the order for parts. And thats another thing, a lot of times when someone pays me to build a MS I send the majority of the money directly to diyautotune and the post office. So I'll get taxed on that income and DIY will still have to pay their taxes on it. lose lose.

I don't understand wtf e-checks are for.
I've gotten a couple of them before, and of course always waited til they cleared before sending items, but if you have money in the bank for the item, and your paypal is linked to your bank account (as they usually are) what the hell is the point of an e-check when you can make an instant transfer? Or instant credit card payment?

I see absolutely no benefits of an e-check or wtf its even for. Someone explain.

Also free bump cause this is still a great deal and good thing OP was smart enough to not get scammed

I wasn't trying to scam the guy at ALL. This would be the 3rd miata Ive bought off this forum. I had a family emergency and left the country asap. I left my friend instructions to take care of everything and he screwed it up.

I never ONCE asked for him to let the car go without having full payment. Just a simple mistake my friend made.

Why can't I edit my original post to add "SOLD" to this thing so I stop getting 50 annoying *** emails a day from tire kickers or people trying to get me to sell them parts off it. <---if you are these people, just know you suck.
