you missed the point which was made in the next two following sentences.
Again, there was no blue wave, the only thing that gave Biden the win were an unusually high record of votes for him, in a few select counties, in a few select swing states...
counties like:

Republicans still have 50 US Senators, and two more are in play.
Republicans won three new governorships and did not lose any.
Republicans gained or kept state congressional seats in places they were supposed to lose.

The unfortunate situation is that once again I think people were in a position where they had to vote against a candidate as opposed to voting for a candidate. South Park nailed it, every election is between a Douche and a Turd Sandwich.

Is it not reasonable to believe that Democrat controlled counties vote heavily Democrat? Pretty sure it would be a lot more eyebrow raising if these Democrat controlled counties went Republican.
