Why?

All else being equal, I'd prefer to see the government waste less of my money on witch-hunts politically-motivated and ultimately fruitless investigations, not more.

 

They'll actually find stuff for Biden. Plus that's just how we do things now.

 

I do firmly believe that every president should be impeached at least once per term.

It's like a busy-box for Congress. Gives them something harmless to keep themselves occupied with.

 

I wish they would start settling debates with wwe style wrestling. I'd love to see Nancy hit in the face with a folding chair.

 

 

 

Because I am a nerd, I started re-watching Battlestar Galactica on Monday ago. The 2004 version. Only about 30 minutes a night, which means I'm still in chapter 2 of the pilot.

It still stands up as a great show. A socio-political drama which holds up a mirror to 21st century humanity.

Commander Adama just finished the "I know where Earth is" speech, and here's the thing: It was a lie. A total fabrication made up by the Commander on the spot, because it was what the people needed to hear at that exact moment. And it had the desired effect: it gave the people hope; a cause to unite behind.

Still as in-tune today as it was 16 years ago.

I fear that the current chapter of the political theater (the most recent presidential "lection) has served its purpose in drawing attention away from matters of actual significance.
