Basically, the NJ couple and homeless guy who helped them out a while back have been found to have made it up to get money. When will people stop supporting Go Fund Me pages?

I have an addiction to good food, good alcohol, and driving nice cars that isn't satisfied by being a Buddhist monk.
I would like to run for Congress on the sole premise of being able to pass a basic Civic Studies test regarding the founding fathers and the Constitution. I suspect when people on both sides of the aisle took the test, I would no longer receive campaign contributions when they all realize they are functionally 7 year olds.

I'm trying to figure out why it took 9 months to get the charges dropped, and/or why there were charges in the first place without any evidence whatsoever.
best comment of the moment: this is why you don't sleep with a liberal.

Makes me wonder how a woman who is attacked in her apartment and cut on the chest with a box knife can mis-identify a specific ex as being the perpetrator of the attack the day after the attack even though she was 100% sure it was him when giving a statement to the police.
Sort of ***** all over the Kavanaugh accuser Ford who claimed to be able to identify him 100% after 30+ years.

serious questions:
How does removing a disrespectful journalist’s credentials amount to violations of the 1st Amendment?
Is he not able to practice journalism outside the WH halls? Is CNN not allowed to substitute him?
Can I sue the WH for making me leave my subcompact 9mm at home before visiting - violating my 2nd Amendment?

Serious answer, from the point of view of CNN: Abridging the freedom of the press abridges the freedom of the press. I think there's something in the constitution about that.

he didn't ban all reporters, or even cnn -- just one grand-stander. there is no First Amendment right to access the White House -- which is all removing his press pass does. And how was this an emergency?
but i do love how everyone was claiming the video was doctored within hours, yet a 30 year old yearbook is 100% proof.

No Constitutional right exists to a White House press pass... they have always been limited, and the holders vetted. That it was revoked for bad behavior in no way violates any 1st Amendment right.

OMG, she made a point!
The Left has a point about corporations. The Left traditionally was always shouting about corporations, and the right was always defending them, but the Left has a point – that corporations can become so powerful that they become a pseudo-state. We’ve seen a million Hollywood movies about this, where the evil corporation is hunting people down, but that is a fair danger, at least in the imagination. A corporation can become so powerful, so rich, that it controls the government itself, or at least becomes a proxy government, and we should watch for that. There are monopoly laws on the books, where we can break them up, and there should be laws where they’re held accountable. But suddenly, the Left has just become the pal of corporations.
So there is this big story in The New York Times about how Facebook covered up when it was accused of pushing fake news, and letting the Russians get on there. They did terrible things, Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg – the COO of Facebook – they took this aggressive lobbying campaign to combat their critics. From The New York Times: “They wanted to shift public anger toward rival companies, ward off damaging regulations. Facebook employed a Republican opposition research firm to discredit activist protestors in part by linking them to the liberal financier George Soros.” So Zuckerberg is attacking George Soros to get Republicans on his side, and also tapped its business relations and lobbied a Jewish civil rights group to cast criticism as anti-Semitic.
This is at the same time New York and Virginia, the bastions of left-wingery, are paying Amazon to move in. Here’s the thing where Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is actually right. She says she was “outraged” that they paid out all this money to Amazon to get them to move to New York. Governor Cuomo said he had to offer subsidies to Amazon to compete against states that don’t have an income tax. Why didn’t he just rescind the New York income tax and then bring more business in? In other words, if you own a little store in New York, you’ve got to pay these outrageous taxes to support Amazon coming in.
So suddenly the Left has become the party of big corporations. I’ve said this before, that big corporations love big government because little guys can’t compete. They can’t compete with the red tape or legal work.
All of this is to say – the people who are lecturing us about morals are the last people who should be lecturing us.

a feminist scorned.
all death threats against trump are still public and unpunished, however.
What ARE we allowed to say here??? How tf is simply saying 'men aren't women' hateful??? I am losing my goddamned mind over this. Enjoy your brave new world, sjws. Here's your f***ing social justice … I'm assuming my account is going to get locked again simply for speaking about this. But this is not f***ing ok and I'm not going to let it go silently … Trans activists have been targeting my account for a few months now. Either someone at Twitter or with an in at Twitter has been combing through old tweets and reporting them for “hateful conduct.” Twitter seems to instantly shut my account down without a second thought.

Don’t know if this belongs here or the gun rights thread - might need ”terminal a-hole educators” thread.
