Taking a break from politics for awhile.

Completely and totally demoralized and disillusioned from research/papers/etc. I've read lately that....is unfortunate.

Santorum, if he becomes the GOP nominee, will get at least 43% of the popular vote. My faith in the US political system went from "Nonexistant" to "It doesn't matter what the sane people do."

The more I read on this election, the more I get convinced that Paul is the only "sane person" vote there is.

And yet, you can see from the election results why I'm so disheartened. You see a lot of intersection with Dems and Reps for Paul support, but...When a significant minority of the country doesn't care who the candidate is, or what they stand for on the R side and only care about the R by their name...and then you extrapolate that to the Dem side and the people that only care about the D next to their name...

It's entirely possible a majority of the voting populace just vote because of a letter, not because of who the candidate is, what they stand for, or even having any kind of opinion on the candidate. Just voting for a letter is ------- retarded.

The media is trying to put a pillow over Ron Paul's head and smother him out. You can tell he doesn't fit into their agenda, so they sort of treat him like the redheaded step child. If I had to vote, it would for sure be Paul at this point. Unfortunately, I am now pretty worried that Santorum will find his way into power. I am legitimately scared of that guy, and what he could do in office. I'm even more afraid that the population will actually vote him into office. If he does somehow win, I completely give up on giving a ---- about this country. I already feel like I am living Idiocracy as it is, Santorum being elected will just put it over the top. And to think I was worried about Romney... Santorum really came out of nowhere. I'd take Romney over him any day, and would endure Obama for 8 more years if I had to, just to deny Santorum.

In June 2011, Santorum said he would continue to "fight very strongly against libertarian influence within the Republican party and the conservative movement."In an NPR interview in the summer of 2005, Santorum discussed what he called the "libertarianish right," saying "they have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do. Government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulation low and that we shouldn't get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn't get involved in cultural issues, you know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world, and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can't go it alone..."
What the ----? Seriously, ---- being moderate right if he's serious.

Maybe you can focus on the positive? Cup half full?

"[...] I think most conservatives understand that individuals can't go it alone, that there is no such society that I'm aware of where we've had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture."

Democrats, republicans, whatever you want to call yourselves. Titles don't mean a thing to me. Its more about a person's personal beliefs, morals, ideas, etc. Once you put a "label" on yourself, you lose all of that. You are now part of the political herd. Focusing all your energy into fighting someone else's cause, rather than your own.

On that note, let me take that test. lol

Review, investigation, who gives a ---- WHAT you call it!?

Its ok for them to lose that kind of money, yet they want to know where every dollar you or I make goes.

That seems fair.

So what do y'all think about either going to a no party system (everybody runs independently) or a more then two party system? I understand we have the option to vote for say, the Neo-whig party candidate, but I'm thinking of a system that would have a third party have its own convention and primary voting and stuff.
