.........funds as necessary, and to terminate United States military operations and reconstruction activities in Afghanistan." NOTHING to do with relief. That is a direct quote from the bill........which also came from your post. How are you getting relief from this language?? Military operations are NOT relief. Reconstruction is NOT relief (especially after the US are the one's who invaded, etc. CHeck out Charlie Wilson's war for your history lesson.....and the US over 4 decades involvement). Please explain your interpretation.... |
How is Congress terminating military operations giving the president "ANY FULL MILITARY POWER to the president"?
Did you just read the word president and have a TDS episode? |
2017......That shit happened in 2017. What does anything occurring in 2017 have to do with ANYTHING related to Corvid 19??
Also, please cite where you found that Rene Boucher’ is a Democrat. https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/31/polit...ges/index.html According to the plea deal, Boucher said he "had enough" after seeing the senator stack more brush onto a brush pile. In statements to the Kentucky State Police and the FBI, Boucher admitted to running onto Paul's property and tackling the senator when he wasn't looking. |
My point is, any sort of full presidential military power (including moving funds around at his own discretion without approval from Congress) is a NO NO!
Also, again, what does any of that has to do with Corvid 19?? Please again, explain.... |

I think you and I may be reading two amendments here. Sen. Paul proposed spending less money on the military and in Afghanistan, so that said money would be available for other purposes domestically, such as relief and aid concerning the present situation in the US.
https://www.courier-journal.com/stor...te/2863112001/ However, I ask again, What does any of that have to do with addressing the pandemic? That is what my gripe revolves around and what Braineack keeps dancing around. Also, the war in Afghanistan was mostly started by US involvement. The Pandemic, not so much.......unless you consider the lackluster response by the US as the reason we essentially have a country wide lockdown. I respect the intentions, but not the execution.... Yes, the Dems did something similar, however, atleast it applied to folks "indrectly" affected by Corvid 19.....like sick leave pay for instance. |

I think all he was saying was that covid has a higher propensity to harm someone with underlying respiratory issues. In this case...having a single lung due to a previous attack.

Frankly, I do share Braineack's annoyance with the fact that Congress is yet again using a national emergency as an excuse to stuff well-intentioned legislation full of pork, just so that they can say "Woe is us, those evil people in the other party are trying to prevent us from passing this vital legislation which will provide much needed help to the American people." https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0e7764ed95.png https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...20c2c06409.png https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...9e712257e1.png https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...761382fdf3.png https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...549f5b7e7a.png https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...eef73d48f0.png https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...c5953be06c.png https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...153cb77828.png |
In other news, Glenn Beck is very generously offering to die, and I think that we should probably take him up on it. Sounds like a net positive:
Glenn Beck offers to die to save America from a COVID-19 shutdown4:05 a.m."I want to have a frank conversation with you," commentator Glenn Beck, 56, said on his show Tuesday, the latest conservative to paint the coronavirus lockdowns in terms of life versus liberty. "I would rather have my children stay home and all of us who are over 50 go in and keep this economy going and working, even if we all get sick. I would rather die than kill the country, because it's not the economy that's dying, it's the country." https://theweek.com/speedreads/90460...vid19-shutdown |

Well there is good news out of all this “stimulus package”. It looks like each family will get $2400 (couple, no kids)! And, seeing as though I owe considerable quarterly tax payments, and the Treasury Secretary has kindly allowed me to wait until July 15 to file and mail that 1st & 2nd payment I’ll use my stimulus money to pay some of it!!!! Kind of like use my own money to pay myself logic. Or maybe I’ll think of it as using Brainie’s money to pay my taxes and his great, great, great grandkids’ll get left with the bill... assuming he has any.
Now, I’ll wait to read the final bill and see how much free money my business can obtain. America is a great country! Thanks Brain! /sarcasm :fawk: |

Now stop posting the same shit I've already listed out in text format with page numbers in post 17226, yesterday, and is no longer really relevant. |

If we're spending money on the arts, I would prefer that Covid the musical is played to an empty theater for the sake of authenticity. Or maybe we can just paint pretty pictures on respirators with that money. Or carve some fancy gravestones.

We aren't. Joe is still referencing the 1473 page Bill Nancy Pelosi pulled out of a drawer they were going to try to pass if Clinton was President. She tried to recycle it as a relief bill -- but shows you how thankful we should be that Trump was elected.
We are moving forward with an abortion of a some ~500 page bipartisan Senate Bill. It's hard to keep track because news outlets would rather sugar coat the bill and not actually reference the bill number and/or link to the text. This is all I can currently find: https://www.appropriations.senate.go...mary_FINAL.pdf |

Fuck the politicians and any idea of a government being your savior when you trip and skin your knee. It is a terrible precedent and will be used to bankroll every dip in the road until the inevitable collapse. This is not just foolish but destructive. The fools on both sides are not looking more than a couple of years ahead and should be dragged through the streets covered in tar and feathers.
