Saw this earlier today in my FB feed:
That's from my Alma Mater, the University of Florida. And it was re-posted by a real-world friend of mine who was also a classmate in high school (she married a guy who went to UF, who I shared an apartment with years before they met.)
The comments at the bottom... "I Hope he got punched."
Really?
I mean, I'm not a ****. I'm not a ****-sympathizer. I disagree with most of the tenets of National Socialism, and I'd personally prefer that Nazism wasn't a thing.
But these people are acting like the 1st Amendment doesn't exist. Since when was physical violence the correct solution (by a so-called liberal, none the less) to someone else freely exercising their constitutionally-protected rights? It's like they don't realize that the same laws which guarantee their right to hold and express political opinions which some people might disagree with also apply to Mr. Skinhead.
I'm ashamed to be a Gator this day.

Constitutional rights tend to get abridged (rightly, wrongly) in the face of existential threats. So, *****, Japanese internment, McCarthyism, etc.
Nazism is not a current existential threat though. What I find really objectionable is abridging Constitutional rights because they are "offensive" in the eye of a beholder. That is the current existential threat.

I wonder where they learn it from:
Facebook Post
A Dallas ISD art teacher was placed on administrative leave Thursday after a video surfaced showing the Adamson High School teacher pointing what appears to be a squirt gun at the image of President Donald Trump and saying, “Die, die!”

I'm offended by that false claim.
Moving on, this is a real thing which is actually happening, for real, in the real world:
‘My Pronouns Are...” Buttons Instruct Strangers How To Address People Per Their Preferred Gender
by Penn Collins January 12, 2017
Employees at the University of Kansas are letting you know what you can call them by pinning the suggestions right on their chest.
The libraries located on campus have taken a bold step towards removing the guesswork and uncertainty regarding gender fluidity and identity with the introduction of buttons instructing how to refer to the person wearing them. In an age where gender fluidity is not only becoming more prevalent but also recognized, the library employees at the school have started wearing buttons that state, “My pronouns are...” followed by words that they most closely associate with their gender identity.
The buttons aren’t required by the workplace, but rather are made available to both employees and interested students. Says Rebecca Smith, the KU Libraries director of communications and advancement, “We’ve told all of our front-line employees, if a student asks, give them a button.”
Signs at the libraries state:

Signs at the libraries state:
"Because gender is, itself, fluid and up to the individual. Each person has the right to identify their own pronouns, and we encourage you to ask before assuming someone's gender. Pronouns matter! Misgendering someone can have lasting consequences, and using the incorrect pronoun can be hurtful, disrespectful, and invalidate someone's identity."
The accessories and initiative are part of the larger “You Belong Here” campaign for undergrads which aims to create an environment of inclusion for the school’s diverse array of students, including those who identify as gender fluid. The campaign provides signs showing the location of “gender-inclusive” restrooms in the library, as well as directions to reflection rooms and lactation stations, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. https://www.good.is/articles/buttons-gender-pronouns

As I tell people, the first amendment means they can say what they want without being arrested. It does not mean they can say what they want without consequence from the people around them.
