What happened after the video is I was handcuffed and made to sit on the side of the road. They couldn’t tell my why they were detaining me. They called a tow truck to move my car one block north and charged me $75 to do so. I was then arrested for obstructing an officer and taken to jail where I was made to post a $1,000 bail. My girlfriend was also charged with obstructing but was only given a ticket.
it's weird that he was charged with obstruction at a license and registration checkpoint, when he gave his license and registration.

it's almost like, recurring theme, cops like to escalate the situation and create crime.

let's look at the nebraska code on obstruction:

28-906. Obstructing a peace officer; penalty.

(1) A person commits the offense of obstructing a peace officer, when, by using or threatening to use violence, force, physical interference, or obstacle, he or she intentionally obstructs, impairs, or hinders (a) the enforcement of the penal law or the preservation of the peace by a peace officer or judge acting under color of his or her official authority or (b) a police animal assisting a peace officer acting pursuant to the peace officer's official authority.
I didn't see that happen in the video.

‘Ghostbuster’ cops keep raiding dead man’s home: suit | New York Post

He’s been dead for eight years, but try telling that to the NYPD.

Cops have barged into James Jordan Sr.’s family home looking for him more than a dozen times since he died in 2006 — prompting his exasperated relatives to finally post his death certificate on the front door.

“I tell them over and over, ‘James isn’t here! He’s dead! It’s that simple. What’s so difficult to understand about that?’ ” the Brooklyn security guard’s widow, Karen, told The Post on Monday.

James Jordan Sr., who died from diabetes at age 46, was last arrested in 1996 — for turnstile-jumping, said Karen Jordan, who has filed a lawsuit against the city in Brooklyn federal court.

But cops still routinely ransack the family’s Bushwick home on Sumner Avenue, demanding to see him — coming four times this year alone, Jordan said.

MPD gets military vehicle to provide moving cover in tactical situations

The MRAP, or mine resistant ambush protection vehicle, was created in response to insurgent and terrorist use of improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan...

The cost of each MRAP was originally around $650,000. Through what is called the 1033 program the federal government makes them available to law enforcement agencies for free.
Glad I paid for this surplus that's now parked in my back yard.

‘You can’t arrest his spirit’: Family says NYPD keeps raiding dead man’s home

http://tribwpix.files.wordpress.com/...pg?w=640&h=360

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Police officers have raided a Brooklyn home in search of a dead man four times this year alone, and the wanted man’s widow has become so exasperated that she’s taped her late husband’s death certificate to the door hoping that will be proof enough that he isn’t inside.

James Jordan Sr. died from diabetes in 2006. Since then, NYPD officers have allegedly ransacked his Bushwick home more than a dozen times demanding to see the 46-year-old security guard, the New York Post reported this week.

Jordan’s widow, Karen, has filed a lawsuit against the city in Brooklyn federal court over the alleged “raids.”

Karen Jordan said she tells officers her husband has been dead for eight years and her apartment is too small to hide anyone anyway, but she alleges they continue rummaging through her home, turning over drawers and threatening her to be quiet or face arrest.

Jordan said she doesn’t know why the police are so interested in her late husband, who she said had a scant criminal record and was last arrested in 1996 – a decade before his death – for turnstile-jumping.

Last summer, officers arrested Jordan’s 31-year-old son, who shares a name with his late father.

James Jordan Jr. said a half dozen officers rushed into the apartment and took him into custody when he told them his name. He said they were “like a riot team. It was like a raid.”

“My dad’s spirit is here. But you can’t arrest his spirit,” Jordan Jr. told the Post. “I just want my dad to rest in peace. Even when you’re dead, you still get harassed.”

The Post reports that the city’s Law Department declined to comment.

Autopsy released in wrongful death suit against HPD - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

The lawsuit claims Smith's son was set up in a drug sting by Huntsville Police using an 18-year-old confidential informant. The lawsuit states that at some point an officer in plain clothes ran towards Smith's son without identifying themselves. According to the court documents Smith son ran. The documents went on to say an officer threw him to the ground, cuffed him and pepper-sprayed him. The autopsy report also stated the teenager's neck was restrained.

The lawsuit claims police told paramedics the 17-year-old swallowed a bag of drugs. Smith and her lawyers contend a bag of drugs was never found in his stomach. The autopsy report also does not indicate anything unusual found in the teen's stomach.

In an effort to retrieve the alleged bag, the lawsuit claims police had to shove a sharp object into the teen's throat.

NAPLES, Uintah County — A Uintah County sheep rancher has accused a Naples police officer of using excessive force during a traffic stop last month that was recorded on the officer's chest-mounted video camera.

Naples Police Chief Mark Watkins said the video, obtained through a public records request, clearly shows officer Ben Fishler did not brutalize Pablo I. Geronimo after pulling him over for driving a truck with expired registration.

"In reviewing the video and talking to all involved, I believe the force that was used was justified," Watkins said. "The injury that happened to Pablo was unfortunate and I'm not excited about that whatsoever."

Some who have known Geronimo for years, however, believe Fishler didn't need to take the 5-foot, 5-inch tall, 63-year-old man to the ground, causing him to suffer injuries to his face and head.

"We did everything we possibly could to keep the animal at bay until then, but the animal charged one of the officers, and the officer at that point he has to do something to protect himself,” said Commander Stuart.

Another neighbor says he saw police using a lawn chair to shield themselves from the dog. But says he didn't think they'd shoot.

"The dog was not attacking him, or chasing them, or anything like that, he was in his yard,” said Adrian Johns.

A friend from the dog park came out to console Garcia. Stacey Morehead brought along her dog Sassypants, who used to play with Gotti.

“As a dog mom, if that were to happen to Sassy pants, my whole world would go,” said Morehead.

"He was young and he was a member of our family,” Garcia said.

Police say they will conduct a full investigation of the shooting.
