Dash cam video shows Ark. police chief speeding, not given ticket | THV11.com

The Brinkley police officer then entered the video to approach Randle’s truck. The trooper says the officer had been following Randle for miles and called the ASP for help. As the officer walked up, Randle can be heard giving him a hard time.

“I know you didn’t call the State Police!” he says.

“I didn’t have your plate, so it didn’t go over,” the officer responds, which could indicate that, since the officer did not announce the truck’s license plate number into his radio, nobody else would know the chief had been pulled over.

After the trooper made a quick joke about getting a call because the truck was going so fast, the officer can be heard saying, “I had you locked in at 107.” Randle responded, “It won’t do 107. It’ll only do 95.”

Randle told THV11 that his truck has a governor on its engine that prevents it from going more than 95 miles per hour.

The officer then responded that he was driving 90 miles an hour and that Randle was still pulling away from him. They laugh a bit more, and then, roughly 45 seconds after the trooper first approached Randle’s window, the officer can be heard saying, “See you later, Chief,” as the two men walk back to their cars and Randle drives away.

As the trooper entered his car, the officer asked him how fast he had Randle driving. The trooper responded, “71 at the curve.”

THV11 spoke with Randle twice by phone on Monday and gave him the opportunity to record an interview to explain his side of the story, which he declined. He said never got close to the 95 mile per hour limit he mentioned regarding the governor on his truck. He also said he was not driving 71 miles per hour when he was pulled over.

Benjamin Martin, a Clarendon business owner, was driving home from work when he saw the traffic stop, and pulled over when he noticed a Brinkley police car making a stop inside Clarendon city limits.

“I find it, you know, very disheartening, that anyone, public official or not, would show such blatant disregard for the speed limit, and put the lives of innocent others at risk,” Martin said.

Though the state trooper claimed that the officer had been pursuing Randle for miles, Randle told THV11 that the officer was on his way to Clarendon to get fingerprints from someone at the county jail.

Deputy who beat K-9 partner will keep job, arbitrator rules

A Ramsey County deputy who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty after beating his canine partner during an out-of-town event will keep his job despite the sheriff’s office’s attempt to fire him.

Deputy Brett Arthur Berry was fired April 8, a few months after a Carlton County, Minn., judge sentenced him to a year of unsupervised probation for the June 2015 incident at Black Bear Casino. Berry admitted that he got drunk while at the casino for a canine officers’ certification event and beat his K-9 partner, Boone, out of frustration when he had a hard time putting the German shepherd back on the leash after taking him outside for a walk.

The incident was captured on security video and generated considerable anger from the public and embarrassment to the sheriff’s office.

Denver cop caught on his own body camera stealing from suspect - NY Daily News

This body camera incriminated a cop, and acquitted a suspect.

A crooked Denver cop was arrested Friday after he was caught on his own body camera stealing $1,200 from a suspect at a crime scene — and the suspect is now free to go as a consequence, authorities said.

Officer Julian Archuleta, 48, was called to the scene of a shooting outside a 7-Eleven on Oct. 7 to take photos of a vehicle that a gunman had crashed during a pursuit with cops.

But Archuleta did more than just take photos after sifting through the car and finding some of the suspect's clothes, which had been removed by paramedics.

Video shows convicted Duval school guard use chokehold on middle-schooler | WJAX-TV

Video obtained by Action News Jax shows former Arlington Middle School security guard Robert Fields grabbing two students and slamming them to the ground.

It took four months of public records requests for Action News Jax to get the video from the State Attorney’s Office.

The incident happened in a hallway at the school’s building for students in the Emotional or Behavioral Disability program.

The affidavit for Field’s arrest warrant said the two students he scuffled with were 13 and 14 years old.

Court documents said on Dec. 9, 2015, Fields was trying to take a football and basketball from the boys after they disobeyed their substitute teacher and went outside to play.

...

The school police report said the boy who was charged would not have been arrested if the officers had actually watched the surveillance video.

The charges against the boy were dropped.

Four months went by before Fields was arrested in May.

Fields was originally charged with felony child abuse, but was able to plead that down to a misdemeanor battery charge. He was sentenced to one day in jail and a year of probation.

The Filing Decision Form that Action News Jax got from the State Attorney’s Office said there was not enough evidence to prove the boys were actually injured, physically or mentally.

The form shows the mothers of both boys agreed to Fields’ downgraded charge.

School Cop Fires Gun in School for No Reason, Hitting a Teacher in the Neck -- Not Arrested

A school resource officer at Bay City Western High and Middle School in Auburn, MI, discharged his weapon in the line of duty on Friday, Nov. 11th, at 12:30pm. But it’s not what one might think. Officer Adam Brown was reportedly in an empty room when the incident occurred. According to Michigan Live, Brown discharged his backup weapon, a .380 caliber Sig Sauer handgun, the bullet passing through a wall before striking a teacher in the neck.

Bay County Sheriff John E. Miller stated Brown’s possession of the weapon “conforms to departmental policy” and added, “he qualified with it and he was cleared by the range officer.”

...

Pauline Helmling, president of the Bay City Public Schools Board of Education, did address the officer’s discharged firearm. Helmling told reporters, “This shook all of us to the core. It was very scary. And we are so grateful that no one got hurt.” Helmling offered no details but did say, “Being that it’s still under investigation and in the hands of the Michigan State Police, we know only as much as the public knows right now.”

Cop's Typo Leads to Innocent Woman's Car Crashed with a Spike Strip, Police Holding Her at Gunpoint

Sophia Holmes had done nothing wrong, committed no traffic violation and was simply on her way home when police popped her tires with a spike strip, sending her crashing off the road. She was then pulled from the vehicle, forced to the ground and held at gunpoint — all because a cop made a typo.

Last week, Portland’s city council approved a $10,000 payout to settle a lawsuit brought against the police department by Holmes. On January 10, of this year, Holmes was driving home when she crossed paths with Officer Christopher Gjovik who was patrolling the area Holmes drove through every day to get home.

For an unknown reason, Gjovik ran Holmes’ plates. But, when he typed in the numbers into his unit’s computer — he entered them incorrectly. The car came back as stolen, according to the lawsuit. Gjovik then radioed in for backup and all hell broke loose.

“After falsely reporting that the plaintiff was operating a stolen motor vehicle, Officer David Arnold deployed spike strips as the plaintiff’s vehicle passed his location,” the suit said.

The video is instantly entertaining because Kevin is in a bunny suit equipped large pink ears and all. Kevin also has an air horn.

The humor started when Kevin was told he would have to turn himself in for a violation of his SLAP probation.

S.L.A.P. is a program in New Jersey. It is actually called the Sheriff's Labor Assistance Program. This is a community-based corrections program that provides a structured alternative to imprisonment. People sentenced to SLAP perform moderate levels of manual labor instead of sitting in a jail cell.

So this program provides free manual labor for the state of NJ. People are given the choice to provide slave labor or sit in jail. The crimes that fit the program are not crimes at all. To qualify you have to have no victim. Meaning it has to be a simple non violent garbage charge in the first place.

Kevin decided if they were gonna lock him up for nothing he would at least have fun with it. Equipped with a bunny suit and a bullhorn he walked straight into the police department. His brother was following quietly with the camera.

Kevin walked up to the window and blew the air horn several times. He announced he was here to turn himself in. The woman was not amused. She yelled at him to stop it with the air horn. Kevin did not. He hit the button many more times over the next few minutes while he waited for officers to come take him to jail.

The mood changes when they see a police car come in fast from outside. The car was occupied by Officer Nick Maresca and his partner Officer Chris Lottito.

Nick Maresca was the first through the door. Kevin placed the air horn down and put his hands out to show he was no threat. Maresca immediately says "Who's blowing the f***** air horn?! " Kevin says "Me". Officer Maresca says "Why the F**** are you doing that?" Kevin responds "I don't know." That is when the officer slams him against the wall and punches him in the face while yelling "You don't F**ing know?!"

Kevin's brother quickly alerts the cops they are on camera. The cop says "I don't care about that". That's when Maresca grabbed Kevin and physically threw him into the back room. Maresca's partner, Chris Lottito went after Jason demanding to know why he was there. When Jason informed him he was there so his brother could turn himself in he was immediately pushed physically outside.

Kevin currently sits in the Sussex county jail on his original sentence of 12 days for violating the rules of the slave labor program.

He is now also facing charges of harassment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The person filming this whole thing was called to the police station 2 hours after leaving. He was told he had to come to pick up paperwork for his brother. When he arrived he was ALSO taken into custody. He was forced into the back and photographed. They then handed him a stack of charges.

The police claim that the person filming the encounter is guilty of harassment of the police. They also claim that he is guilty of disorderly conduct.

The last I checked filming is not a crime. Last I checked we are all responsible for our actions. You can not be charged with harassing an on duty official. Otherwise every cop would arrest every cop watcher every day.

I called the department myself and spoke with the desk Sargent. He informed me that there is an open investigation into the incident and the department can not comment further. I asked if the officer was on duty still. Again I was told "no comment" and was hung up on.

Once again the state of New Jersey has shown that its police play by their own rules. We see what happened to Trenton NJ after doing similar to a man there. The tax payers will be paying for years to come on that case.

Cops went crazy on teens after blaming them for botched hooker sting: suit | New York Post

Six police officers in Detroit are being accused of acting like they were straight out of “Super Bad.”

Cops who thought three teens were interfering with a prostitution sting posted a picture of one of the handcuffed boys online, drove them in unmarked cars at “reckless speeds” on residential streets and dumped them off in an unsafe area before ordering them to walk home, a lawsuit claims.

The suit, filed on Nov. 18 in federal court in Detroit, alleges a “blatant abuse of authority” on behalf of the officers on Aug. 26, when Hassan Abdallah and Ibrahim Bazzi, both 17, picked up their friend Ali Chami, 18, after his shift at the Coney Island restaurant in Detroit. As the three were about to leave, Hassan spotted a relative pull into a nearby CVS and waved to the man, who drove over and greeted the teens.

But cops thought the teens were discouraging the man from talking to an undercover prostitution “decoy,” according to the suit alleging a slew of bad behavior and police hijinks that got out of hand. The suit seeks unspecified damages.

Dashcam video shows the moments before a man, stopped during a traffic stop, gets busted for trafficking 17 pounds of marijuana by Officer's of the Woodstock Police Department.

The man, identified as Philip Williams, with the help of an attorney, was able to obtain the dashcam video of his arrest. The video shows longtime Woodstock Police Officer, Eric Schmidtke, illegally calling for a K-9 unit during a traffic stop without any sort of reasonable suspicion, and inferred that he smelled pot in the vehicle.

When the K-9 handler arrived, she talks to the driver who claims that he is being harassed. She quickly realizes that the man has not been told about the suspicions. She then questions Officer Schmidtke as to why he didn't tell the suspect that he smelled marijuana in the car, and then continued on to say that he would have been able to search the vehicle himself.

Officer Schmidtke then explained the real reason as to why he called for a K-9, which was actually for William's criminal record, which is not a justifiable reason to call a K-9 unit to check his car for drugs.

Obtaining the dashcam video resulted in drug trafficker having all charges dropped, and the Officer being placed on administrative leave, followed by his resignation.

A civil lawsuit is being filed by Philip Williams, and prosecutors are also investigating the incident to see if criminal charges will be placed against the Officer.

Clear violation of the Supreme Court ruling.

15yo Girl Reports Rape to School Police -- They Ignored Her, Didn't Even Tell Her Parents

A 15-year-old high school student was forced to ask for help on Facebook after she reported her rape to police only to be completely ignored. After being exposed for ignoring the girl, police then blamed her for their mistakes.

The alleged attack happened in December 2015, right near the school. Because the child felt ashamed and guilty after the attack, she was scared to tell her parents. After hearing that her attacker had done the same thing to several other girls, she finally broke her silence and told the school police.

Her reports of rape, however, fell on deaf ears as police took no action.

According to FOX 4 News, Fort Worth ISD filed a report with police, but the detective assigned to the case did nothing with it from there.

In July of 2016, that detective, Dennis Hutchins was fired for mishandling multiple child abuse cases just like this one.

“We’ve discovered there were several cases where the detective dropped the ball,” said Sgt. Marc Povero, Fort Worth Police Dept. “We’ve done our due diligence to go back through all the cases not properly handled or mishandled and we’re re-investigating those cases, this was one of them.”

Former Roanoke police officer pleads no contest to sexually assaulting female prisoners - Roanoke Times: Roanoke

A former Roanoke police officer has resolved the two criminal cases against him, both involving sexual assault claims by prisoners who were in his custody.

Francisco Alberto Duarte, 30, was indicted earlier this year on charges of aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy.

He was due to go to trial on the former case on Thursday morning and on the latter case in January.

At a hearing Thursday in Roanoke Circuit Court, Duarte pleaded no contest to amended counts of felony carnal knowledge with an inmate and misdemeanor sexual battery.

Through a plea agreement with prosecutors, Duarte received six months to serve on each charge, with five years in suspended time. He likely will end up serving about three months on the misdemeanor offense and another six on the felony. He was taken into custody as soon as the hearing ended.

Based on the statute under which Duarte was charged, he will not have to register as a sex offender, his lawyer said.

drunk cop is drunk.

Dashcam video footage shows an on-duty New Jersey State Trooper, Sgt. First Class Michael Roadside, being revealed as a drunk driver after crashing his Police Car into a woman stopped at a stop sign near the Garden State Parkway service area in October 2015.

The woman, identified as Kimberly Wilson, frantically called 911 reporting that the Trooper was scaring her after crashing into her vehicle. She suggested to the 911 and State Trooper dispatcher that the poorly dressed Trooper appeared drunk, approached her very erratically, dropping ammunition and a beer bottle cap, then attempted to bribe her with $1000 and advised her not to call the Police.

As the first responding trooper arrives to the scene, his dashcam shows Roadside exiting his vehicle immediately stating "I'm not drunk". He then proceeds to tell the Trooper that his impairment and slurred speech has to do with a recent surgery and claimed he was on anesthesia. When asked "What happened? You hit her from behind?", Roadside then seemed to avoid the question and stated "I've got to get home".

A breathalyzer test later showed that Roadside was double the blood-alcohol limit. He was charged with drinking and driving, careless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. That same day, he checked himself into an in-patient treatment facility for alcoholics.

In December of 2015, Roadside pleaded guilty to drinking and driving, and had all other charges dropped after a plea deal. He was ordered to surrender his license for 7 months, spend 12 hours in a Intoxicated Driver Resource Center, as well as pay $386 in fines. His attorney advocated him by saying he was a 29 year veteran who was dedicated to his job and previously had no issues.

The last publicly released statement shows that the Trooper is under internal investigation, and remains suspended without pay.

Homewood police department has launched an internal investigation after video of their officers assaulting a 59-year-old mother in Walmart has gone viral.

The victim, Brenda Rivers had done nothing wrong, committed no crime, and was minding her own business when she was targeted by police who mistook her for a criminal.

Without a warrant or reasonable articulable suspicion, as Rivers did not match the description of the actual suspect, police detained her and demanded they be allowed to search her belongings.

Knowing she had done nothing wrong, Rivers refused.

“He just accused her,” Rivers’ husband said, trying to explain to cops that they had just entered the store. “He wanted to go through her purse without a search warrant or anything. Our rights are being infringed.”

For demanding police get a warrant to search her, Rivers was assaulted, wrestled to the ground, placed in handcuffs, and humiliated as police detained her for nearly thirty minutes. All the while, her husband is demanding they stop the abuse.

...

Instead of simply reviewing the Walmart security camera footage, police went off half-cocked and just started grabbing and searching people. Rivers was the second woman to wrongfully be accused by police.

According to the bystanders in the video, even the woman who had her wallet stolen tried to tell police that it was not Rivers. However, they had already smelled blood in the water.

...

According to AL.com, activist Carlos Montez Chaverst Jr. said Rivers’ clothing didn’t fit the description of the suspect. The victim told police the suspect was wearing a skirt and boots, and Rivers was wearing burgundy pants and shoes. “She shouldn’t have been detained to begin with. There’s a lot of missing pieces to this deal,” Chaverst said.

“We’re ready to galvanize,” he said. “We want the mayor to speak out, we want the police chief to speak out. We’re asking for transparency. We want honest and full, complete details as to what happened.”

When AL.com asked about Chaverst about the police statement that accused Rivers of failing to comply with police, Chaverst said, “Comply? Police make up their own policies. Comply is whatever they say comply is. That’s how comply works.”

No cause, no problem; has money.

Snoop case: Transport employees in America were secretly paid by the government to search travellers? bags | The Economist

THERE are many reasons why you might have been stopped at an American transport hub and your bag searched by officials. You might have be chosen at random. Perhaps you matched a profile. Or you could have been flagged by an airline, railroad or security employee who was being secretly paid by the government as a confidential informant to uncover evidence of drug smuggling.

A committee of Congress heard remarkable testimony last week about a long-running programme by the Drug Enforcement Administration. For years, officials from the Department of Justice testified, the DEA has paid millions of dollars to a variety of confidential sources to provide tips on travellers who may be transporting drugs or large sums of money. Those sources include staff at airlines, Amtrak, parcel services and even the Transportation Safety Administration.

The testimony follows a report by the Justice Department that uncovered the DEA programme and detailed its many potential violations. According to that report, airline employees and other informers had an incentive to search more travellers’ bags, since they received payment whenever their actions resulted in DEA seizures of cash or contraband. The best-compensated of these appears to have been a parcel company employee who received more than $1m from the DEA over five years. One airline worker, meanwhile, received $617,676 from 2012 to 2015 for tips that led to confiscations. But the DEA itself profited much more from the programme. That well-paid informant got only about 12% of the amount the agency seized as a result of the his tips.

While the DEA and its informants may have profited nicely, travellers no doubt paid the price in increased searches. We have no idea as to the extent of the problem because the DEA did not keep records on tips and searches that did not lead to seizures. As Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz put it at the tribunal: “We don’t know, for example, whether they were batting 1.000 or batting .050.” For every successful seizure, there might have been 10 passengers inconvenienced by a search. Or 100. Or 1,000.

That is not merely an inconvenience. It is probably a violation of protocol and the law. According to the Justice Department report, paying TSA employees to spy on travellers was a clear violation of DEA policy: those working for law enforcement agencies in their official capacity can’t also be confidential sources. Likewise, encouraging TSA and other employees to search bags and parcels may have infringed people’s constitutional protection under the Fourth Amendment, against “unreasonable searches and seizures”.

Deputies mistake kitty litter for meth; after 3 days in jail,

A Houston man has been cleared of a drug charge after authorities realized he'd been arrested for possession of kitty litter.

"They thought they had the biggest bust in Harris County," Ross LeBeau said. "This was the bust of the year for them."

A traffic stop in early December led to the discovery of almost half a pound of what deputies believed to be methamphetamine.

The deputies arrested LeBeau and sent out a press release, including a mug shot, describing the bust.

According to authorities, the arrest was due to deputies finding a sock filled with what they believed to be methamphetamine. It was actually kitty litter that LeBeau kept in his car to reduce fog in his windows.

After the arrest, LeBeau was fingerprinted and booked into a jail where he spent three days before being released.

The problem came after two field tests, performed by deputies, came back positive for meth.

Later a third test was conducted by the county's forensic lab which revealed that the kitty litter was not a controlled substance. The case was later dismissed.

Gotta love when the government can steal your property...
its better when it's food and they toss it into garbage trucks...

The food was allegedly blocking a sidewalk, so, instead of asking the owner move it, or merely confiscating it from a non-compliant owner and giving it to a food shelter, the government’s decision was to put it in a landfill.

But owner Mohammad Ullah, a 52-year-old father of six who lives in Brooklyn, claimed the officers never gave him a chance to move the boxes of fruit.

“The cop came and told me to move, so I started moving the boxes,” he said. “Son of a bitch sits in his car and calls sanitation, then they come and take everything. He was watching me move the boxes and he still called men to take it away. It was like a robbery. I lost $8,300 of merchandise in one day.

Ullah said he had just purchased the fruit the day before.

“It was all fresh,” he explained. “They threw out 52 boxes of fresh cherries — those were $3 a pound! There was lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, grapefruit, Chinese pears. But the worst was the oranges. Everyone here wants the Mandarin oranges, and they’re all gone.”

Another fine example on how police have no morals, as well as brains:

Roseville man gets $128 ticket for heating up car in own driveway - WXYZ.com

Did you know you could get fined for heating up your car? One man's parking ticket has gone viral, with thousands of views after he was ticketed for heating up his car in his own driveway.

Taylor Trupiano says he's still shaking his head over a parking ticket he got on his own property.

"I thought it was some kind of joke at first, and then I was thrown back by it," he said. "I was really surprised."

The ticket was for leaving the keys in the ignition with the motor running and no one around. Trupiano said he was only doing something many people in Michigan do during the winter.

"I was in and out in probably about 7-8 minutes," he added. "So in that amount of time he ran up here, gave me a ticket and by the time I got out he was nowhere to be seen."

Frustrated with the ticket, he posted a photo on Facebook where he racked up thousands of comments and shares.

The Roseville Police Department ticket comes with a $128 fine. There is no state law against leaving your car turned on and unattended, but dozens of cities across Michigan have local ordinances.

"We have five to ten cars stolen this way every winter," Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said. "It's dangerous, and of course it drives everyone's insurance rates up. It drives our crime rates up."

Many of the ordinances will allow you to use a remote start because the vehicle is locked.

Berlin tells 7 Action News they will not apologize and in fact, he encourages his officers to enforce this law.

"It's common sense. We can't warn everybody of the law there is. Common sense says you don't leave your car running unattended," Berlin said.

How does an officer know exactly if a remote start was used, and why is it there business to rob from the people they are "trying" to protect. More proof that policing is a scam.

Heck, in NJ they can ticket you if you leave your car idling more than 3 minutes (though I have never seen it actually enforced).

Braineack 01-10-2017 12:34 PM

at least they pretend it's about the environment. but you know full well that fine isn't getting paid forward to God in any form of retribution for damages.

like why even bother?

https://aminewswire.com/stories/5110...-than-reported

The record-setting violence in Chicago is even worse than announced as new evidence shows the city suffered 50 more homicides last year than the numbers publicly reported in the past week.

The cityposted a decades-high homicide count of 812 in 2016, per the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. That’s 15% greater than the 762 murders reported by the city's police department.

The discrepancy is largely due to the fact that the county tallies “homicides” while the police number counts “murders.” Murders are defined as violent acts subject to criminal prosecution. Homicides, according to the medical examiner, include instances “when the death of a person comes at the hand of another person. This does not imply that all homicides are murders that would be subject to criminal prosecution.”

The city police count is also lower because it excludes violent, intentional deaths if the act is deemed justified, including police killings of residents.

Per the county’s count, homicides rose 54% in 2016 over 2015 when Chicago had 528 deaths determined to be homicides.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for victims of homicide in Chicago with 725 decedents being felled by at least one gunshot wound.

African Americans also bore the brunt of the violence in Cook County, which includes Chicago. They accounted for 710 of the county-wide total of 915 (88% of which occurred in the city). Men comprised 90% of the homicide victims in the county.

Police like [to shoot] little boys

officer his still yet to be charged with, in the least, discharging his firearm in public...

triple88a 02-26-2017 03:01 PM

Well for that i cant blame him. I wouldnt be passive when i'm surrounded by those thugs either. See my story in the other thread of the 3 boys that shot the 51 year old man to death while walking his dog.

Braineack 02-26-2017 04:50 PM

he could have let go.

This was a dispute about children walking through his lawn. While he has every right to ask them to stop and get off his lawn, he doesn't get to false imprison the kid and hold him against his will. There's a legal process to trespass someone, that's not part of it. He didn't identify as a cop, and doens't get to make a citizen's arrest unless a felony has been committed.

he haphazardly dragged the boy around, over a freaking bush, and his friends got tired of him struggling for over 2 minutes with him. True, he didnt pull the gun, and assault the kids (firing warning shots [even by accident] is assault), until someone took a swing at him and surrounded him, but they could easily claim they were coming to the defense of someone who was being falsely imprisoned by some creepy old man.

since police are trained to be agressors and escalate situations im not surpised this is how it played out. kid is just luckily the cop has just as bad aim as he does trigger control.

i going to start grabbing people by the pussy, and then pull out my gun when they object.

Cops hate being responsible for their mistakes.

Suspected killer mistakenly released from custody | WTKR.com

CHICAGO — Police are searching for a murder suspect who was mistakenly released from s
tate custody in an apparent case of miscommunication, Illinois officials said Monday.

Garrett Glover, 29, was released early on parole after being sentenced in 2014 to four years in prison for attempted armed robbery, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Glover, who had been housed at the Cook County Jail since February, 2014, became eligible for parole after receiving credit for time served – 879 days, officials told the Chicago Tribune.

Officials say Garrett Glover, charged in a 2012 fatal expressway shooting, should never have been released from custody. (Cook County Sheriff’s Department)

But the sheriff says Glover should never have been released because he was also charged with murder in a fatal shooting along Interstate 94 in 2012. Those charges were filed in 2015.

just a few more "bad" apples.

16 Arlington Officers Surrender Licenses Over Falsified Traffic Stops | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

More than a dozen Arlington police officers surrendered their peace officer's licenses to avoid criminal charges for falsely reporting traffic stops, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.

Five of the officers, Dane Peterson, Dace Warren, Brandon Jones, Chris McCright and Chris Dockery, were indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury last week for Tampering with a Governmental Record.

The DA's office said Wednesday the charges against those five officers were dismissed after they agreed to give up their licenses and that they consider the cases closed.

Those five are among 16 officers in Arlington who were placed on leave last year after supervisors discovered records of traffic stops that never actually occurred.
...
Cases were dropped against them, but they'll just get hired somewhere else...

they are also playing the victim card if you read the story...

triple88a 03-07-2017 10:46 AM

I wonder if the DA would drop the charges if I get caught speeding with 200mph if i just say i'll give up my drivers license.

dont worry, when the DA brings the case up the grand jury, they'll suggest to the GJ that it was legal and part of policing.

Assault first, ask questions later. Claim citizen instigated assault and was resisting arrest. Destroy video evidence and display audio evidence of muffled citizen and cop yelling 'Stop Resisting'.

Says it right there on the first page of the policing manual!
