Cop who Beat Down a Wheelchair Bound Man Found Not Guilty on All Charges | The Free Thought Project

shup up backup, or ill arrest you too

Back in 2012 Richard Jouppi was booking 50-year old, wheelchair bound, Anthony Jon Jackson in the detoxification center. Jouppi was clearly causing pain and hurting Jackson, at which point Jackson reached up with his arm to defend himself, and told Jouppi, “you can’t do that.”

Jouppi then stooped to particularly low level and began to pummel Jackson to the point of knocking him backwards out of the wheelchair and then getting on top of his paralyzed body.

Jouppi, 36, faced fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges after the aggressive incident. This past November, Jouppi was found not guilty on all charges.

want a security, you put a wall.

I like this new trick by police, since they cant get his information when he's on teh sidewalk and told to leave and he's "free to go", they pull him over and request it, since by law you then have to.

he was told he was pulled over for using an electronic device while driving: http://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2013/316.305

and was given a ticket for "careless driving" and he wrote down the electronic device was used to film while driving. Problem is, the law quoted and linked above is all about text messaging. AND the law requires them to pull you over for a primary traffic offense before they can cite you for the wireless devices violation.

Dispatch special report: Private cops being shielded from the public | The Columbus Dispatch

More than 800 privately employed police officers in Ohio are authorized by the state to carry handguns, use deadly force and detain, search and arrest people.

Yet state law allows the officers and their private-sector employers to keep arrest and incident reports secret, even from those they arrest and crime victims.

And the public is not permitted to check the officers’ background or conduct records, including their use-of-force and discipline histories.

Sounds familiar. I suggest everyone read the full story, it's a good 20min read.

I was thrown by the pic at beginning that I assumed the writer to be a her. - But the writer quoted a cop as referring to the writer as male.

In the latest move by Waukesha PD to further separate Citizens from their basic human and constitutionally enumerated rights, Chief Russel Jack has declared that Waukesha cops may stop and detain community members simply for filming them. MOORE, Oklahoma - Three Moore Police officers were put on administrative leave while detective investigate an in-custody death from overnight. The family of the man who died said police beat him badly and they recorded it with a cell phone camera.

Nair Rodriguez and her daughter Lunahi told News 9 they got into an argument at the Warren Theater around midnight. Nair said she slapped her daughter then stormed away. Her husband, Luis, chased after her. That was when the family said officers confronted Luis Rodriguez and asked to see his identification.

According to Lunahi and Nair, he tried to bypass the officers to stop his wife from driving off because she was so angry. They said officers took him down and it escalated.

Lunahi Rodriguez said that five officers beat her father to death right in front of her, in the parking lot of the movie theater.

"When they flipped him over you could see all the blood on his face, it was, he was disfigured, you couldn't recognize him."

By the time it was all over, Nair Rodriguez said that she knew her husband was dead.

"I saw him. His [motionless] body when people carry it to the stretcher," she explained. "I knew that he was dead."

Nair says her husband was only trying to defuse the fight she was having with her daughter. She said when police asked her about it she told them what happened.

"I told them I hit her and he was just trying to reach me. Why didn't they arrest me?"

Lunahi added, "My mom was taking a video and asking, 'What are they doing this for? Why?' And they didn't give really an explanation."

Rodriguez told News 9 that police took her phone with the recording on it. Another family member provided News 9 with an audio recording she said was taken when that happened. The family hoped Luis would pull through, so they waited for news at the hospital.

"Two hours passed. They finally called her up to say, 'Oh you could see him,' but it turned out it was a lie. They moved his body elsewhere," said Lunahi.

The family told News 9 they would hire an attorney.

Man identified in Red Rock shooting | Las Vegas Review-Journal

By STEVEN SLIVKA
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
The man who was shot and killed by officers near the Red Rock National Conservation Area Friday has been identified.

D’Andre Berghardt Jr., 20, of Los Angeles was shot by Bureau of Land Management rangers after he climbed into a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper’s SUV and tried to remove an AR-15 rifle from a locked compartment. At least one ranger fired through the car’s windshield.

It’s unclear if the trooper fired.

The two federal rangers and the state trooper were called to state Route 159 about noon Friday after cyclists near Calico Basin reported an altercation with a pedestrian, described as a black man in his 20s, according to Highway Patrol.

Trooper Loy Hixson said Friday the officers “felt their lives were in danger,” but he never specified a reason.

But the Review-Journal learned the officers fought with the man, who had been carrying a rolling suitcase, a backpack and a bedroll but was otherwise unarmed.

During the scuffle, the man gained access to the trooper’s SUV and attempted to pull the gun from a locked rack holding the officer’s rifle.

No officers were injured, but Berghardt died at the scene, Hixson said. Berghardt died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

NYPD Cop Attacks Man for Video Recording Him, Deleting his Footage, but Man Recovers Footage | Photography is Not a Crime: PINAC

A New York City cop beat up and arrested a man for video recording him inside a subway station from 30 feet away Saturday night, walking up to him and getting in his face all while claiming the man was invading his personal space.

Officer Rojas, shield number 23404, then deleted the video, never mentioning the camera once in his arrest report, claiming the man had physically interfered with another arrest he was making.

But after spending 24 hours in jail, Shawn Randall Thomas managed to recover the deleted footage, proving that Rojas is not only a liar, but a bullying thug as well.

Thomas also obtained footage from another man who had recorded Rojas with his knees on Thomas’ back as he lay face down on the sidewalk just outside the sub station, seconds after Rojas had bashed his face into the pavement, busting his lip.

The injury was so bad that they had to transport him to the hospital twice during his 24-hour incarceration where doctors described him as a victim of assault.
