Speaking of Moog. They are again in business and making old and new versions, I understand.

I discovered this quite by accident a few years ago while on vacation in Asheville. Stumbled across their building while walking back home to the B&B late one night. Wound up going back the next day after the Bacon Festival and getting a tour.
Their sound lab is wicked cool. It contains one or more of pretty much every module that Moog has ever produced (many bookshelf-sized cabinets to hold 'em all) along with a lot of the newer semi-modular stuff, so that artists can come in an experiment with a virtually infinite variety of combinations in order to figure out what they need to create whatever sound it is they're looking for.
I came across a whole lot of white people in Asheville. Mostly skewing towards the liberal side, but also lots of frat-bro-adjacent types. (Go Sports!) Nobody saluted Hitler or tried to oppress me the whole time I was there. They mostly just ate a lot of good food, looked at a bunch of art, made some good music, etc. All of this without being coerced in any way.
