She knows well enough that NPCs dont have brains...

One of the things that we Democrats have a really hard time is connecting to people’s hearts instead of [their brains].

When you have a really hard time doing that and one of the reasons that was shown to me at one of our retreats was that we Democrats know so much, that is true. We have to kind of tell everyone how smart we are and so we have a tendency to be very left-brain.

The most important person in the entire world doesn't have to pay for his crimes! when you don't have "guts!"

Special counsel Robert Mueller is calling for a light sentence for Michael Flynn, the former national security advisor to President Donald Trump.

“Given the defendant’s substantial assistance and other considerations... a sentence at the low end of the guideline range—including a sentence that does not impose a term of incarceration—is appropriate and warranted,” Mueller’s office wrote in the sentencing memo filed this evening.

The president does not have anything to do with state budgets. Many states that voted for Bush had Democrat state legislators.
That chart also includes spending on things like military bases which red states have in higher proportion.
That bullshit chart has been debunked many times over.

Unrelated:

To be clear, I'm not a huge fan of President Trump. And I'm also slightly annoyed (as a member of the media) by constant, shrill claims from the uneducated masses that "the mainstream press" has a political agenda which is somehow furthered by character attacks against the President. To be clear, we DO have an agenda, but it's purely ratings / profit-oriented. I know this is hard for some people to believe, but I actually attend the meetings at which we in upper-management decide these things.

Still, when I see things like this, I find it disquieting:

As a brief refresher: for the past two years, it's been popular to criticize the President for acting like a buffoon. Which, to be fair, is true much of the time.

Today, apparently, it's become popular to criticize the President for being quiet, stoic and dignified during a moment of great national solemnity.

Honestly, stuff like this makes me glad that my TV station prides itself on a clown and a sock-puppet.

hey joe.

https://news.grabien.com/story-ocasi...ance-will-crea

New York City’s incoming socialist congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, says there will only be benefits, and no costs, to passing a raft of new climate change laws. In particular, she said, a new system of global warming governance will usher in “economic, social, and racial justice.” suggesting the federal government should nationalize technology the automaker Tesla developed following its receipt of tax subsidies.

“As a matter of fact, it's not just possible that we will create jobs and economic activity by transitioning to renewable energy, but it's inevitable that we are going to create jobs,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “It's inevitable that we're going to create industry, and it's inevitable that we can use the transition to a hundred percent renewable energy as the vehicle to truly deliver and establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America.”

The comments came during a recent Bernie Sanders-hosted symposium on global warming.

The incoming congressman did not elaborate on how laws aimed at curbing global warming would create “economic, social, and racial justice.”

Ocasio-Cortez has likened her envisioned global warming programs to another New Deal, or as she calls it, a “Green New Deal.”

“I believe that the progressive movement is the only movement that has answers right now,” she said. “We're the only ones that are drawing from the lessons of history, from Franklin Delano Roosevelt, from some of the most ambitious projects that we have pursued in American history. And that truly again is the scale that it's going to take.”

Ocasio-Cortez also suggested the federal government should nationalize Tesla’s technology, following the company’s receipt of tax subsidies. [Video]

It’s past time, she said, that the government gets its “due” for this “investment.”

“I think that there's so much work that has been done and there are some outlying questions, especially when it comes to investment in technologies, when we as a public choose to invest in private — when we as a public choose to invest in new technologies, we deserve a return on that investment,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And for far too long we gave money to Tesla, we gave money to a ton of people, and we got no return on our investment that the public made in creating technologies. And it's about time that we get our due, because it's the public that funded and financed a lot of innovative technologies and that's another, you know, way to go."

Things like this make me happy.

One quote from the story below, from a woman who was outraged by this blatantly constitutional display, struck me as especially ironic:

"I suppose it is their free speech rights to do that, so I can't deny that. But do I agree with it? Absolutely not," said Garret Moffett. "I can't disagree with the statement in itself but when it's coming from a satanic or a cult group, my response would be that everything about Satan is a lie."

Well, yeah- I think that "everything about Satan is a lie" is kind of the whole point. While I'm sure that there are a small minority of Satanists who literally worship Satan in the way that Christians worship Christ, the vast majority of them (and 100% of the ones I know personally) treat the "religion" as something akin to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. In other words, it's a form of satire intended to expose hypocrisy, while demonstrating that virtues such as tolerance and benevolence are perfectly capable of existing outside of a Christian-based mindset, despite frequent claims from evangelical types that "without God there can be no morality."

Anyway, the article:

Satanic statue erected in Illinois State Capitol with other holiday decorations

The resin sculpture, dubbed a "Snaketivity," depicts a hand holding an apple, with a snake wrapped around it.

By Elisha Fieldstadt

This holiday season, the Illinois State Capitol is celebrating both Santa and Satan.

A statue designed and funded by the Satanic Temple of Chicago is on display in the statehouse in Springfield along with a Christmas tree, Nativity scene, and a menorah.

The resin sculpture, which the Satanic Temple has dubbed a "Snaketivity," depicts a hand holding an apple, with a snake wrapped around it. The arm and hand are 18 inches tall, said Dave Druker, the press secretary for the Illinois Secretary of State's office, which maintains the capitol building.

The figure rests on a 4-foot tall base that reads "Knowledge is the greatest gift."

When Chicago's Satanic Temple announced the design on Instagram last month, the group said they were "bringing a message to the Illinois state capital that religious freedom means freedom of representation for ALL religions... not just the ones that don't offend Christians."

The group launched a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $1,500 to cover construction, transportation and installation costs.

"Please consider what you may do to help us bring Satan to Springfield!," the page read. The group raised $1,700.

The Satanic Temple has chapters all over the country. According to their website, the goal of the group is to "encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will."

The statue will remain in the capitol until Dec. 29. Illinois residents have mixed feelings about its presence, according to NBC affiliate WMBF.

"I suppose it is their free speech rights to do that, so I can't deny that. But do I agree with it? Absolutely not," said Garret Moffett. "I can't disagree with the statement in itself but when it's coming from a satanic or a cult group, my response would be that everything about Satan is a lie."

Druker told NBC News that when the Satanic Temple of Chicago applied to display the statue, "our attorneys felt that there’s no question that it’s a First Amendment issue, and this group had a right to express their thoughts."

Another holiday-season display in the capitol is a statement from the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which reads in part: "Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds,” Druker said.

And for years, he said, "we had a young man from Springfield who submitted a Festivus pole, and we had that one up too," referring to a decoration for a holiday created by the character of Frank Costanza on "Seinfeld."

How to run for an office in Chicago:

A college kid running for 13th Ward alderman gets a lesson in the Chicago Way
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...206-story.html

“We turned in 1,703 signatures. We compared them to the 2,796 revocations, and found only 187 matches, meaning only 187 people who signed David’s petitions filed revocations,” Dorf said. “So, what about the 2,609 people who didn’t sign for David but who filed revocations? That’s fraud. That’s perjury. That’s felony.”
