This all reminds me of when we had the riots in Cincinnati back when I lived there in 2001. Same deal (the police shot a young black male who had 14 outstanding arrest warrants as he was fleeing from them at 2am) and then the outstanding folks of the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood (which has the honor of having been named "Ground Zero in Urban Decline" by Reason Magazine) started burning everything down.

Actually, at least the folks in London are burning down other people's ****. In OTR, they didn't even the common sense to get on a bus and go burn down a nice neighborhood like Indian Hill. They just stayed close to home and burned their own neighborhood down.

I've been watching the live feed, a majority of those participating in the rowdyism have high levels of melanin and the authorities are scared to do anything about it.

 

What is the thought process behind burning down your own neighborhood? I have noticed this aspect in a number of riots both recent and past.
