We should try having red state federal laws and blue state federal laws. It would be interesting to see where the majority of people migrate to, red states or blue states. I would move to a red state, lol.

it brings a couple of points.

a) those who will freak out about government control are going to implode

b) how much is too much?

c) some government intervention is ok.

IMO just another example of the trend of our nation towards extreme polarization, fueled by the media. If we get to the point where no one wants to debate CONSTRUCTIVELY with anyone that has a different opinion then democracy is at risk. All the yelling and cherry-picking of doom and gloom information to support a fringe opinion is just leading to irrational yelling and violence.

Everyone has a different opinion on what the best solution is that is driven by their perspective, situation, beliefs, or whatever else. The point is to be able to have a rational debate and arrive at an amicable solution in a peaceful manner. There is no need for a revolution. What we need is less sensationalistic press and fewer followers of these radicalized talking heads whose motives IMO are questionable in that they are probably more concerned about their ratings and less concerned about what is 'good' for the country.

And yes I agree that we need a fiscally conservative and social liberal party. I hate the moral agendas of the Republicans and the entitlement prone nature of the Democrats.

I tried to stay out of this thread for fear of pissing certain people off again for no reason, but I couldn't help myself any longer, well I stopped reading at Miatamania's /B picture.

When was the last time you complained about:

DOT not maintaining roads well enough?

NASA costing too much money?

FDA ******* something up and causing deaths by drugs and or food that was contaminated?

NHTSA - God forbid they miss something like oh I dunno, Explorer's rolling over for no reason, priuses gas pedals being stuck, etc.. We all know how much lefty's gonna blame that one on the manufacturer

Get pissed about the weather man ******* up lately?

But yea, I guess that guy's got a point about the Government being able to do stuff right witht he examples he used, I think I covered most of them.

EDIT:

Anyone see the story about the "sting" of Energy Star? They made up a bunch of BS products and even COMPANIES along with their "power consumption statistics" and got Energy Star approval ratings with no problems. One of the items was a GASOLINE POWERED ALARM CLOCK.....really? Yep, glad my tax dollars are funding that Agency so I get products with low-power consumption, Government can't even handle something that easy I don't want them in charge of everyone's medicine.

How many TSA agents does it take to get through security? ...I lost count. Most of them were standing around twiddling thumbs.

You're not by chance suggesting something like the Confederate States of America and the United States of America are you? God knows that means you want black people to be your slaves.... because clearly the Civil War wasn't over Government in any way shape or form, it was however (and VERY ironically) the beginning of our Nation's demise.

Wasn't it you that made a reference to being able to get your pocket knife through TSA security at the airport multiple times like myself?

Yea, they're right though, Government is great at doing their job.

Remember it was industry that freed the slaves...they gave them a place to work, but now that's evil.
