I'm kind of the same way. Have had a CCW permit since a few days after I turned 21, but recently especially I haven't really carried it at all. If I go to a bad part of town I do, but most of the time just going to and from places on my daily travels, it's almost too much trouble. Not everywhere I go allows me to carry it, and I don't feel like leaving it under the seat to be stolen with my car. I need to get a smaller gun though, something that will fit in my pocket and I can "forget" about.

^^^ Hey, I thought you moved it here so you didn't have to read it??... Face it, deep down you know you want to be a conservative...

It makes me feel great to know that I work my *** off to pay for the fat lazy welfare ***** up town that has spawned 10 kids b/c she gets more cash per head. Like she's a subsidized meat farmer... of which most will land in jail or be slaughterd on the streets...

CWP is the way to go for this one... Fair warning, if you see me pull it on someone in a situation that calls for it is being used. With me being 5'6" and 140 lbs, I think I would be in the realm to claim self-defense.

*digging through politics section*

for what it's worth, if there was a DISincentive to have more than a kid or two, there wouldn't be so many babies on welfare or anywhere else. those damn rugrats use up resources worse than your hummer.

I used to be pretty laisez faire about this, but the more I watch my girl grow and notice how other kids are growing up (and expecting more and more to be awarded for -being- rather than -accomplishing-) I think something needs to be done.

I hear people talk about "parenting licenses" which I have a really big problem with, but could see a financial barrier being effective without too much government intrusion or added bureaucracy. People tend to take better care of things that cost them. Realizing they have to pay taxes on another kid, rather than being rewarded and subsidized baby making machines, may spur more to not only have less kids than they can afford and manage to raise, but be better parents of the kids they do have.
