Can you please lobby for more tire manufactures to start making 225/45/15's? It's 2018, no one want 205's anymore. We want 225/45/15 RE71R's haha

Haha, you bet! I'll also forward this to our Bridgestone representative right now

Also please lobby Konig to make the new Dekagram in 15x9.

Can DTD get the Hankook RS4 or does TR have exclusive rights?

Done! FWIW, we can order the 15x9 Dial-in which if I remember correctly weighs as much as the 15x8 Dekagram.

Konig Dial-In | Discount Tire Direct

As for the tires, yes, the RS4 is their exclusive.

You don't seem to carry the Maxxis RC-1 or even the VR-1, yet you carry some of their other products. They are available in sizes we use on the Miatas, for what it's worth. The 245/40-15 is gaining popularity now that it is out. The 205/50 and 225/45-15 were already pretty popular. Price and quality are good on them.

I appreciate your input on this and I'll certainly pass it along. As of right now we only sell Maxxis Powersports products, but this could change come next year.

I have a great relationship with my local DT... but you need to work on your competition tire selection. In addition to the Maxxis mentioned above, they couldn't get Rivals or RS4s.

In 225/45-15, NT01s are the only tires you have to sell right now.

They were able to get me a set of Advanti S1s in 15x9... kudos for that.

Konig Dial-In Discount Tire Direct
The Dial-in is a terrible wheel for road racing use. Thanks to the protruding spoke design, this is what happens when you have wheel to wheel/tire contact with a Dial-in. This wheel somehow finished the SCCA nationals race but it cut the other guy's tire and took him out of the race.

Thank you for your feedback, guys and for your support of Discount Tire! I will pass your comments along.

On a side note, the Rival is an exclusive model that we are unable to order at this time.

Shop Competition Tires by Size Discount Tire Direct

What is it?

  • The process of breaking-in new track & competition tires by gradually warming them up and allowing them to rest before next track use. During the rest period, the tread compound forms new molecular bonds which improve grip and wear.

Why Heat Cycle?

  • Proper “break-in” of Competition Tires with special compounds.
  • Improved tread life, more laps, and races.
  • Potential for improved lap times.
  • More consistent lap times.
  • Convenience — more track time as opposed to heat cycling on the car.

How does the process work?

  • The tire is mounted on an appropriate-width wheel and inflated to the desired pressure.
  • Assembly is placed in heat cycling machine, which has three rollers positioned at the corners of a triangle.
  • Tire tread flexes where it comes into contact with each of the rollers, stretching the rubber compound to progressively bring it up to temperature all the way around the tire and across the tread.
  • The tread temperature is monitored with a pyrometer to confirm when the tire has reached the desired 170-180° F temperature.
  • There is no artificial heat added by an oven, forced air, or heat lamp.
  • The tire is dismounted, a “Heat Cycled” sticker/stamp is added, and unit is prepared for shipping.
  • Since the minimum 24-hour waiting period occurs while the tires are in transit, the tires are ready to use when they arrive.
