$600 craigslist turbo kit?
So I was browsing craigslist this morning and I found an ad for a $600 turbo kit. Needless to say I got excited since I've been thinking about turbocharging my car for a while lol. Now I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to forced induction and it may be too good to be true so I come to you guys.
Here is the link: Miata turbokits - $600 (desert hot springs)
How is this kit looking? Any questions I should ask him?
Sorry if this is the wrong section, this is my first post

So he answered back. He says the kit comes with intercooler, piping, oil feed line, return line, blow off valve, boost controller, boost gauge, a power ship (?), and he says I will need bigger injectors and 255 fuel pump. & he ran 225rwhp. What else would I need after that? Manifold? ECU? Is this kit worth the $600?

There is a manifold pictured. I would assume that along with the turbo is included.
Megasquirt, wide band 02 sensor, injectors will be highly recommended as well. Clutch is another item that won't last long depending on your power level.
For boost level, you can run just some of it or maybe even all of it.

I just aced a stats test, and I'm in a good mood, so I'll be nice.
It has a manifold. That thing that looks a little like a snail is the turbo.
The "power ship" is a typo I'm assuming. He probably meant to type power chip, as in power card, which is AIDS. Although, if he didn't, I really want to see what it is because it sounds awesome.
My advice is to steer clear, and figure out what all those little bits are by reading lots of threads on this forum before you even consider buying a "kit". If you get this thing and put it on your car, yur doin it rong.

He actually has 2 manifolds shown. The ebay Taco and the s4 looking one. the s4 one is external wastegate so you would need that along with down pipe. If the turbo has an internal gate you can run the taco taco and buy and ebay DP.
As for is it worth it. I'd say do it once and do it right the first time. I'd see if you can buy some pieces off it such as the intercooler piping kit, intcooler, oil feed/return and other nick nacks then either troll sell threads for a used BEGI/FM kit or get the FM ala cart parts.

Okay, okay, so I get that the general consensus seems to be no and I need to do a lot of research before I buy a random kit and slap it on etc. But down the line, I do want to build my own kit cause the experience and amount of money you can save is awesome.
I'm just wondering if buying this dudes kit for parts is worth it? Would it save me some money etc? I kind of see this as an opportunity, but I don't want to make a dumb decision. I definitely won't just slap it on without replacing the sketchy parts that come with it but how about using this as a base?
