Default [HELP]I need help boosting my miata

Hello guys i have a 1991 miata and i want to boost it..so i want to turbo my miata and i am trying to figure out what setup i will run on..

This is what i chose at the moment

1)CXRacing intercooler Piping Kit For 90-98 Mazda Miata.

2)CXRacing Turbo kit For 89-93 Mazda Miata.

I know a lot of people say that the CXRacing turbo kit sucks but the most common issue is the manifold and i will buy a cast iron one.

i don’t want much boost at the moment this turbo is temporary i will keep it arround 6-10 months and later i will upgrade to MegaSquirt and a garret.

I also saw another one cheap turbo kit the MKTurbo but I don’t seem to like it so much because i already have exhaust and it has a t3 turbo and i want a fast spool turbo for a 16L engine.

Tell me what other options i have and what i should change. Thanks!
Sorry if i made any mistakes i am not a mechanic and sorry for my bad English.

MKTurbo and MS3, everything else on the budget side of things is a waste of money.

you are about 1 post from being torched. Do yourself a favor and read the stuff on this forum before posting again.

edit: there, I did my good deed for the day

If you have exhaust, go for a Kraken kit and order manifold+dp. Sell your turbo and buy a 2554r or 2560r. You'll spend about the same if not more when you buy a cast iron manifold separately.

How exactly are you planning to use a cxracing turbo kit with a cast manifold? The downpipe wont work with the cast manifold.

Why do people always say, "I'll get garbage now, but in 6 months I'll get the good stuff" ??

you like throwing money out the window?

If you want fast spool, solid and affordable, get a kraken manifold and downpipe set and a real 2560 or 2554 turbo.

t25 and t28 turbos can be had for fairly cheap from the 240sx guys.

also megasquirt and injectors is not optional, unless you like blowing up motors.

any way you slice it, it takes minimum $3k to turbo a miata. Not including the 1.8 diff that you need and new clutch.

Megasquirt and wideband first, then injectors, then clutch, THEN turbo. This is the way.

That’s why i did this post guys..

I didn’t think about kraken +downpipe and it seems good deal but i live in cyprus and its a little bit hard to find a garrett and find it cheap and i also have problems with shipping because not all products ships to Europe from USA

Where is the best place to buy MegaSquirt?

So i keep the CXRacing intercooler and piping?i don’t want to buy a universal kit because i am not good at freestyle and i also have AC and Powersteering

Yes i know the right way sixshooter by i am tryna choose the expensive parts MegaSquirt is standard and i don’t have any other options with my budget than MegaSquirt

Kraken is in europe.
https://kraken-mx5.eu

mslabs is in Greece - get ms3 basic
https://mslabs.gr

cxracing intercooler kit is fine. But dont expect 100% bolt on, some fiddling required.

injectors I recommend flow force ev14 640cc.
