You just made some friends.

Came across those the other day. I figured someone would have posted already. Woops.

t3/t4? Interesting. Maybe the log spools a big turbine well

Dezeem has been running one for a good while. I have one on the way to me now that I will be doing some test fitting with.

6 sold within last 24 hours
lol

what once was considered reluctantly is now selling like hotcakes

shuiend 02-09-2016 09:34 AM

I am curious if these are the only 10 or so the one seller has, or if there are more in the pipe line. I know for sure that one of those sold was bought with long term thinking of reselling once they go back out of stock.

Thought I'd post these in case someone wants measurements or needs any. Other than some major burrs on the milled edges (surfaces are flat after deburring) things look ok. Funny, 52 have been sold as of this post.

no.

the amount of sales doesnt surprise me, miata owners (read 16yos) would rather cheap out and buy shit and spend $$$ and time/effort getting it to work and ulitmately replacing crap parts than finishing HS, getting a decent job, and spending like a few hours pay to buy a real setup without issues.

Just ordered one of these along with an adapter for t25. Aside from potentially better airflow what would make the Begi/fm logs any better?

Besides the t3 to t2 adapter probably making the turbo hit your hood?

Begi/FM foundries are located in the US so they actually QC their manifolds.

I also think they put the turbo in a much better location for mounting to work with AC/PS.

This is the adapter I ordered. It appears to be really small in comparison to most adapters. Garrett T3 to T25 28 Turbo Manifold Adaptor | eBay

with the price of the manifold and adapter being almost a 4th of the price of begi/fm I am definitely willing to risk it. I could understand avoiding cheap tube style manifolds, but with how simple this is I don't see how anything could really go wrong.

Well have you figured out how the hell you are going to actually bolt that adapter to the manifold and then the turbo? I see absolutely no way to do it.

Not yet. It is being advertised as an adapter for this type of application so I am just assuming it will work. Worst case scenario I return it and swap for the next best option. There seems to be a wide assortment of options and I am familiar with the ebay return process.

yeah put studs the t25 side, then run bolts up through the back up the tacotaco flange and screw them into the back of that adapter.

ezpz.

Bolts won't fit through the bottom of the 1.6 tacotaco flange. I don't see a way to mate the 2 t3 flanges together short of welding them.

Maybe I'm blind but I also do not see a way of possibly doing this haha

Agreed.

OP with T2 to T3 question, I converted a T2 flanged manifold to T3 way back on my original build thread around 2008 or so. Basically drilled/tapped the old stripped T2 holes out and rethreaded them, then loc-tited some bolts in the holes, let loc tite set, cut off bolts, surface flat, then drill/tap new holes for T3 pattern. All done with a drill, tap, and file. Worked for 5 years, sold it to someone here last year.
