I mean technically I think you could weld it. No clue how easy it is to weld whatever sort of cast iron the manifold is made out of to whatever alloy steel that adapter is made out of.

Braineack 02-15-2016 02:30 PM

that was the joke.

Does anyone recommend an alternative adapter? Of course I do not want to have to deal with the turbo touching the hood. I'm sure I could cancel my order before it ships. I don't plan on building this setup quickly anyways I really just bought this because it seemed like the best quality manifold for the price for my application.

yeah put studs the t25 side, then run bolts up through the back up the tacotaco flange and screw them into the back of that adapter.

ezpz.

Good luck with that.

EDIT: Sorry, missed the in between posts while on the phone.

Stupid question @Zachariah Saleh. Why not just run the T3 ebay turbo like everyone else? You can blow up the 1.6L just as quick.

deezums 02-15-2016 03:10 PM

Because he's a dumbass nooooob

No the adapters tend to be garbage, will probably vibrate loose, and then leak.

You will need a custom downpipe even if you manage to get it all bolted together. You are better off watching the classifieds and trying to buy a used FM/Begi manifold and a downpipe, so that way you know your shit fits together and works.

Regarding @patsmx5 posts earlier in #20, I guess it's possible but you end up with the T25 studs really close to the sides. Most likely they'll break through. Not too mention needing a shitload of porting at the turbine inlet. See drawing...

Yeap, I cut into the bolts I loc-tite'd into the manifold when I did my T2 to T3 conversion. Never had a problem though, would do it again if I needed to turn a T2 into a T3.

Besides the t3 to t2 adapter probably making the turbo hit your hood?

Begi/FM foundries are located in the US so they actually QC their manifolds.

I also think they put the turbo in a much better location for mounting to work with AC/PS.

Are their foundries actually in the US? That's surprising. You can get good shit from china with good QC.

I know for a fact the foundry Begi uses is in Texas and a reasonable drive from their office.

I am pretty sure I saw a post by Keith years ago saying they also have their manifolds made in the US.
