I have had no part of that wing or the cars styling. I proposed using rivnuts on the quarter panels vertical part inside the boot so the aluminium cam through the panel gap and have those mounts angle outwards and attach on the ends effectively becoming end plates also.

In Australia the main specialist miata shop says that miata go quicker at 180rwkw than 220rwkw. All I hear is "I cannot be bothered to engineer a traction and/or drive ability solution".

With 17x10 slicks and ms2's ebc setup nice with a nice responsive EFR I hope that 250+rwkw is drivable and quicker than 200rwkw.

Dann you are talking out of your poo poo hole.

Out of one of those places, I'm not talking Charlie's car.
Is running around 270-280 kws at the rear wheels. With no aero and old nittos is running sub 60s around lakeside and is very drivable.
The way you are talking you are the only one in Australia building fi mx5s
Grant and I are planing to build a twin charge set up, it's no big deal.
You have seen zoomzooms car. Some of us just don't like posting on the interwebs, waving are dicks around.
The work you do is really nice don't get me wrong and I would not have any problem running any of your gear you build. But please don't act like the king of fi mx5s in Australia.
Because you are not doing anything than the rest of us are doing in are sheds, plenty of us are running high hp, e85 and on the track, enough said!
So if you please stop walking around, like you are carrying a cross and leading the way in fi in Australia would be lovely.
All the best
Topper!

Please tell me what he is using for boost control, and how he deals with transient response, ie does it want to step out every corner exit?

Ive been asking for criticism this whole thread. If building 400whp cars aint no thing, and twin chargers are an afternoon project please stop hiding this info and help, like the blokes on MT do.

The work you do is really nice don't get me wrong and I would not have any problem running any of your gear you build. But please don't act like the king of fi mx5s in Australia.

Again, Ive only relayed what dave at mania firmly tells people about FI mx5's, and asked for feedback here. Ajays racecar (works at mania) supposedly has over 250rwkw and also is slower than daves 180rwkw car.

Because you are not doing anything than the rest of us are doing in are sheds, plenty of us are running high hp, e85 and on the track, enough said!
Share the love, there is more info out there than is being shared, all your buddies are not on here discussing it they are instead hiding it.

Ive said I had little experience, not that Im the king.

Im just relaying the info and trying to get answers.
If you have them all and it aint even a big deal please relay them to me, cos I have no idea how to get 300rwkw down and I endevour to find out.

Thanks,
Dann

Hmm that manifold almost looks like it should give out a subbie rumble.

It does, makes the car sound a lot bigger.

It gives a whole different attitude to the car.

The white car is dead quiet and no rumble.

Swagger and talent, you can't buy that.

You wonder why some people don't want to share info with you? How many people do you fight with online. I don't see any one hiding info on MT, far from it. Look at all the great build treads. Look at all the info from 949 racing, TSE. you are kidding me.

Again, Ive only relayed what dave at mania firmly tells people about FI mx5's, and asked for feedback here. Ajays racecar (works at mania) supposedly has over 250rwkw and also is slower than daves 180rwkw car.
Track based, Racecars are not all about hp

Ive said I had little experience, not that Im the king.
Yes, Dann but you can come off like your socially autistic. The way you carry on some times, you would think you are the only one in Australia, that can weld or build a race car and the rest of us are wasting are time.
You have to ask the question, why the hell would you post a tread "world record" come on, I could do it with my 1600 motor easy, bolt a turbo to it, weld the waste gate shut and run all of it.

That's my MSM Dann is putting the EFR6258 on and I really don't know what to expect from the sound given its unequal-length headers - it'll be unique if nothing else and I can't wait to hear it! I'm sort-of expecting a weird "Subie-sound".

I needed to keep my A/C (Queensland gets bloody hot and humid), wasn't fussed about losing the P/S and wanted to minimise cutting the shelf if possible (minimises issues with defects) and he managed to create a manifold that positioned the turbo in a position similar to the OEM position. There's not much room in an MSM's engine bay so I can live with the unequal-length headers, but I can't live without my A/C!

Believe it or not, but Dann's actually a genuinely enthusiastic car nut and nice guy, as anyone who's ever dealt with him before will tell you, he's proud of his products, stands by them and will adopt any advice given or requested by customers (unless it's total BS).

Ahh, Dann I see you found the 2 port actuator as well. What was your solution for making the rod longer? I whipped up something in the lathe, but I neded up having to modify it once I put it on the turbo because the rod only needs a tiny extension.

Thanks for the useful info, like every other aussie who knows anything about turbo mx5's any real info regarding how you REALLY get a car like this to work properly is with held. Maybe his car doesnt drive any better that this one Im trying to build. Thats what you are implying. If thats the case I want to learn how to improve that, sorry if that offends.

Ive been asking for criticism this whole thread. If building 400whp cars aint no thing, and twin chargers are an afternoon project please stop hiding this info and help, like the blokes on MT do.

Dude, slow down and reread what I have said, I said that over here on MT.net people are open, thats why I am asking here. I never said there was no info here, far from it. Look above, I underlined where I said the MT guys are full of help.

Again, Ive only relayed what dave at mania firmly tells people about FI mx5's, and asked for feedback here. Ajays racecar (works at mania) supposedly has over 250rwkw and also is slower than daves 180rwkw car.
Track based, Racecars are not all about hp

We had a discussion about that, we concluded that infact 400whp cars ARE quicker than 300whp cars, In this thread, go back and read it.

Ive said I had little experience, not that Im the king.
Yes, Dann but you can come off like your socially autistic. The way you carry on some times, you would think you are the only one in Australia, that can weld or build a race car and the rest of us are wasting are time.

Im one of the VERY few australians who is building, learning and posting about it. Thats what I have been complaining about, and why I am here at MT.net. Apparently In the US its acceptable to attempt to learn without people thinking you are an arsehole because of it, unlike australia where everyone wants to put me down for trying.

You have to ask the question, why the hell would you post a tread "world record" come on, I could do it with my 1600 motor easy, bolt a turbo to it, weld the waste gate shut and run all of it.

Because it gets attention, views, and then helpful info.
I did bolt a 2560 on a 1.6 and ran all of it, it didnt break the record, sorry, turns out its not that easy, so I made a thread title that got me some views and asked the guys here why not, and what can be done better.

I dont know why asking questions offends so many in Australia.

Its like our culture forces people to either act like they are too good to post photos on the net and ask questions, or if they do they will be looked down upon for it.

Here on the MT forums, dozens of people have built stuff better than anything ever built in Australia, and amazingly so, when they do it and post a build thread they get advice, discussion, hopefully they learn something, and people usually dont tell them they are an autistic arsehole for doing so.

I was going to type more but **** it, if you don't get it by now you never will. Either try to help out or go build your 311rwhp GT2560 1.6L- by 'just welding the wastegate', and your twincharged car, which apparently is so easy to engineer it that "it's no big deal."
But please spare 5 minutes to type about it on a forum so people like me can learn from your knowledge, and that's how I feel about the 'elite' mx5 builders in Oz who you never see or hear from unless you are their neighbour. But apparently there are dozens making 400whp, and lap faster than anything with no mechanical issues and get the power down on old hard tyres because the owner has swag.

Leafy:
That wastegate actuator was simply sent to me by Lokiel, who has done tonnes of research and Im just some schmoe welding together the shiny parts.

The actuator arm on this one is actually too long, it will need a die run up it to add extra thread because with the thread it has it holds the wastegate wide open at the best setting.

Interesting the one you have is shorter, do you have photos?

Dann

When I read the last part of this thread it is accompanied by the mortal combat theme song. I like all the progress you have made Dann and your legitimate attempt to start an informative discussion into how to make the car better.

This thread is turning into the tse turbo kit thread. Every time it has posts I look only to be disappointed. Dyno or ban less talk. More dyno

With Fae gone we need another thread with little dyno as possible.

Yeah, from your top picture it looked a lot like this actuator but I guess not.
