2004 MazdaSpeed Miata, installing a Flyin Miata turbo kit
Garrett turbo 2560
Hi Everyone,
First time posting on any forum. So I appreciate the help or if you could direct me to a post if it’s been answered.
I recently purchased a 2004 Mazda speed Miata, almost complete stock, it has bigger intercooler. The previous owner also included a used Flyin Miata turbo kit Garrett 2560 with the manifold and steel down pipe, it also included the wideband sensor, oil line and water line.
I’m would like to know what else I would have to purchase to instal it? Also I’m curious if I could use the stock Mazda speed tubing with the new new turbo.
I’m not looking for major gains, but some extra would be nice.
Thanks again.

Sam,
You are going to need a MS3 ECU for starters. Check out the MS3 Basic from MS Labs in the sponsor section of the forum.
You will also need larger injectors. Nigel at FlowForce will be the best bet for quality and price.
You will likely end up with some DIY for the plumbing but that part isn't particularly difficult to figure out. Maybe a little trial and error with some pipes and couplers. Gains can be had by upgrading the intercooler if that hasn't been done already.
I'm sure there's more but that's a good place to start.
Before going any further, post a thread introducing yourself in the Meet and Greet section and give us some background on you, your experience level, and give us some pictures of your car. Include underhood pictures so we can see what mods may have already been done.
Good luck.

Your intro thread shows Cali plates, which means CARB, which means no turbo upgrade fun for you. At least not legally. But if that doesn't concern you, sixshooter summed it up for a start.
The stock IC plumbing will not work on the hotside with the FM turbo kit, but FM sell a silicone pipe that does the job. You'll want to replace the intercooler while you're at it because that postage stamp in the middle of your bumper won't cool ****. So you may as well get the whole FM intercooler kit with hot and cold side pipes, or go DIY.
Your stock exhaust will not mate up with the FM down pipe, so you'll either need to get one or the other cut and welded to match, or just get a better flowing complete exhaust.
You'll probably want to replace the throttle body elbow as it blows off very easily, and the diverter valve which is a known boost leak.
You've got a lot to learn, but this is a well trodden path and search will reveal a lot, which will lead to more detailed and focused questions.
