Which 2871 does Savington have?

Which GT2871?

There are 3 trim options for the compressor, and at least 2 turbines and 2 a/rs:

You can usually tell from the compressor housing. There is only 1 turbine option and 2 compressor options. Not sure where you see different turbines in there...

how funny..I was just searching for that too. Jason, where are you going to get your GT2871R from?

I found this from Sav's post.

Scratch that, there are 3 wheels. Still only seeing 1 turbine though...

Savington 04-09-2010 01:42 PM

Neo, I think you can get it with a T3 housing in .63 or .82. Too lazy to actually check, though. :p

Your turbine housing is too big. I have a .86 and it hits target boost at 3200rpm. I should have gone with a 2554.

Big A/R is magical.
i also have 0.86 and it works well. boost hits like a wall

Haha...naw dude, you need an IHI in your life.

Turbine so small I couldn't stick my peter in it.

correct. BRGRacer has a .48 A/R T3 housing on his 2871.

neogenesis2004 04-09-2010 02:15 PM

Still the same turbine though.... So I'm win.

You should have gone with VVT. watch that 3200 rpm number get smaller when he gets his isht on a dyno.

this statement is kinda funny.

I'd love to see a test of how comparable the .48 T3 is to the .64 T25, and the .63 T3 to the .86 T25.

I think that's the exact term I used when I found out my boost protection was set at 1.5psi after the install...
