Tom went with that housing because he figured the larger inlet of the T3 housing would be better, but wanted to stick with the smaller T3 .48 A/R size for his low CR 1.6L. But I've heard the are pretty much identical as far as teh ratio is concerned.

shlammed, where's your intake filter, in the tire well? pics of this now pleeeeze.

Damn, I thought .64 A/R was where it's at. Damn, I should have got the .8 A/R.

Maybe...I was fine with hitting target boost at 4400rpm before, but with the AF mainfold it makes that pressure 1200rpm earlier.

wow, that's an insane difference in flow!

shlammage, 440s might be marginal for you.

shlammed 04-09-2010 11:35 PM

:S
i was thinking that too.
i NEED to convert my 92 over to sequential or im 100% going to run out of injector. what about fuel pumps... when do the stock ones tend to die? the FAQ just says PSI not horsepower they support

i have a dyno tune day setup for the first of the month too.

Sorry for de-railing this thread...
i will start a build thread shortly.

I don't think doing sequential gives you any more head room.

Fuel pump, guys use the stock one to 300 wheel plus on gas. I would think if you are above that, you've got serious money in your motor, a new pump is very cheap insurance considering the age of our stockers.

There are 3 compressor trims 48, 52 (Sav's) and 56.

The 48 appears to be a nice size for a 15 psi street setup:

52 trim:

Note that the 48 trim's max efficiency point is closer to the miata's peak torque in a 15 psi setup which would be around 250 hp / 25 lbs/min.

The 52 trim would be better for a track setup because the max effciency point is closer to the powerband peak (~280-320 hp)

The GT2860RS may be better at lower boost because its max efficiency point is closer to 10-12 psi and is probably better at spoolup at lower RPm because it's more efficient in the 5-10 psi range and lower flows:

There is a small trim GTxx60 - 55 trim which would be good for a lower power setup:

which is pretty close to the GT2560
