Sorry guys, I tried not to let it get out of hand, but numbnuts #2 wouldn't shut the fuck up about something trivial when I was trying to show numbnuts #1 he didn't know what he was talking about.

EDIT: Sorry for the threeadjack OP, just hate to see misinformation go unflagged here.

Still u dont overheat a car by taking a thermostat out, IMHO.

Then please do us a favor and go remove yours.

I am an ase master tech and have delt with this situation many of times. every engine's cooling system is different. A removed thermostat can make a car over heat due to the coolant traveling through the radiator to quickly. but on the other hand some engines are designed with a inferior style water pump and can not pump the coolant through fast enough to over heat even when the thermostat is removed. these vehicles would not even reach operating temperature. In some cases they would not even reach closed loop operation. besides the main purpose for a thermostat is to create a restriction so coolant stays in the block longer to get the motor to operating temperature as fast as possible. This is to reach closed loop quicker to get better emissions and to get heat quicker to the interior when needed.

I drove my car without a t-stat for a few days once. It ran hotter but it didn't over heat. But like shaddbarr said, ever car is different.

Day 983 of my captivity...

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now................

leatherface24 04-08-2009 12:59 PM

OK back on topic. Phil, I figured out the problem with yours and all the other china chargers that fail. Heres a video of the turbo cut in half so you can see whats going on inside as its doing its thing:

OMG that's great...literary genius!

My comments were based on years of working with bearings and multiple failures. I am a vibration analyst and this is part of my everyday job. My comments apply to the machinery I work with everyday and as I mentioned I never claimed to be an expert on turbocharger lubrication. So as far as I'm concerned I said nothing wrong, what I said apparently does not apply to turbo's but believe me in my line of work overlubrication is a problem.

gospeed81 04-08-2009 04:45 PM

eh, don't worry about it.

We've already teabagged the fuck out of this thread, and gotten nowhere.
