I too haz link. My buddy bought it 12yrs. ago. I bought the car from him in 2007 and it has been great ever since. Only issues i've really had is a couple wires going bad under the hood from years of S. TX heat and the 7yrs of track abuse in same said heat. I think i had to replace the IAT once. And i have an issue with a bad solder joint on the ecu where the harness connector pins connect to the board. Right now it's fixed by putting a little pressure on the harness. Otherwise the 3rd injector won't fire. lol But for being so old, this thing starts, runs and idles like a stock miata hot or cold, from 25* to 105* temps. I want to get a MS or AEM standalone but it's hard to do when this thing runs so good now. Go with the newer setup if you have a choice. Otherwise I'll be tempted to sell you mine and I'll get the new setup and pray i can get the driveability equal or better than the link. lol

Thanks for your response. I am in central texas, about 45 minutes south of Austin. I'm concerned about heat in the summer with the turbo. As far as ECM's go i think i'm convinced to try the link out first. Hell my first turbo setup in 2006 was a bipes so im atleast not going backwards haha.

Im not trying to push the limits of this engine at all. 9-10Psi max! i just want a fun driver that i can slowly build up as monies become available.

Since im starting from scratch and on a budget i dont feel a $800 MS is justifiable if the link is sufficient. I found a new mazdaspeed flanged manifold that will work for cheap so i think im going to try to find a turbo that will fit and go that route at the moment.

Plans so far will be T28, Mazdaspeed mani, 440CC injectors, DIY intercooler, FM Link ECM, Wideband 02 and good oil lines. Downpipe might be a custom job from exhaust shop or hopefully find a used one...

Right, it uses the k05 stock i believe. But the manifolds is so cheap that i can cut the flange off and weld a t2 flange on and have a brand new cast manifold for $140ish.

that is the stupidest idea I've ever heard this week.
I strongly encourage you to look into why I think this way.
And then get a proper manifold that will work for your needs.
Good luck.
