Default Aerodyne begi kit to T3

Hello, i just picked up my first miata. It has an older begi aerodyne kit which still seems to work. I really couldnt tell you how well its working tho. Boost gauge goes up when u hit the skinny pedal hard.

anyways i figure its best to get rid of the aerodyne and just put on a regular cheaper turbo.

has anyone just bought T3 flanges and and cut/weld the aerodyne manifold to accept a new turbo? seems pretty easy. I priced a Blank t3 flange and they are 18 shipped. Also the outlet t3 flanges are about the same so i think i can cut off the aerodyne outlet flange and put on the t3 so exhaust mods will be minimal.

any advice? i have a lincon 185 TIG welder so welding shouldnt be a problem. Intercooler set up on the aerodyne might be too restrictive for higher boost.

i need to check out the fuel system. it runs pretty rich from what i can tell. anyone know if the begi aerodyne kit came with any fuel mods?

More stuff i will need would be oil line fitting, Bov,

o ya. 1991 with 1.6l 125k 5 sp

I bet you could send it back to BEGi and they could help you out with it, maybe even exchange + money the manifold for a t3 one.

So the Aerodyne kit is T2 correct?
I believe you need a saddle for the T3 flange as well if I am correct?
