Affordable tial Vband housing?

I want to do a V-band churby setup i just nabbed a GT2860rs .84 and i looked at tials website and i couldnt find any pricing which leads me to believe they only wholesale. Maybe one of you can chime in?

Splitime 08-13-2009 10:21 PM

Affordable and Tial v-band housing don't fit in the same sentence ;p

Sam Amporful 08-13-2009 10:31 PM

^^^^
this is true. Im gonna have to deal with studs backing out on my new setup and im fine with that. You know EVERYONE doesnt have to run vbands

hustler 08-13-2009 10:55 PM

You will not find one cheaper than $430. Want in one hand, shit in the other, and see which one fills up first.

ARTech 08-13-2009 10:56 PM

Best price I could find:

TiAL SS Turbine Housings : Himni Racing, Turbocharger, Turbo, Garrett, Turbo Kit, GReddy, Mazda RX-7, HKS, Apexi, TiAL, TurboXS, TurboSmart, Flange, Turbonetics, Exhaust, Intercooler, ACT, Intake

However, you may want to call beforehand to get a ETA on it since it may be backordered for weeks. A place like ATP (I believe this is where tim gets his) or Full Race is more likely to stock them. BTW, you still need the flange and v-band. Stuff gets expensive quickly.

TurboTim 08-13-2009 11:21 PM

My source for TiAL stuff is either ATP or, as I found out today, BEGI! My dad's shop got approved to become a TiAL dealer today too, I have to come up with the $3500 buy in first however. Too bad Sav already has his stuff, that would have helped a lot.

EDIT: Retail on the .86 turbine from ATP is $365, so even thru ATP I can sell it less than that. But like has been mentioned, you have 2 x $50 flanges and 2 x $35 clamps, plus an external wastegate to buy too.

Prob would of been cheaper just to buy the turbo new with the tial exhaust housing... 800 for a new turbo (200 miles) and fittings,

1200 for a brand spankin new churby with v band housing.

I think if i got the tial housing for anything less than 400 id be ahead. Tim, this project is a month or so away. Maybe we can offer a group buy to get an order from tial direct through your dealer. Id be in for : .86 housing with other mate and clamp, WG vband and clamp, 3" v band for the downpipe with clamp, probably more v bands, So like 700-800$ order. and could you also win me the lottery? Thanks

SKMetalworks 08-14-2009 12:27 AM

Found something cheaper 335$

TiAL SS V-Band Housing .86 A/R Garrett GT28R/GT28RS/GT2871R [HSG-019] - $335.00 : Himni Racing, Turbocharger, Turbo, Garrett, Turbo Kit, GReddy, Mazda RX-7, HKS, Apexi, TiAL, TurboXS, TurboSmart, Flange, Turbonetics, Exhaust, Intercooler, ACT, Intake

sprayed beat me =(

Tial Turbine Housings: atpturbo.com

well, I may need another turbo if UPS can't find mine. Yes, my shipment from BEGi is lost in transit. It was never signed for, but delivered. The fucking saga continues.

SKMetalworks 08-14-2009 12:32 AM

p51hellfire 08-14-2009 12:37 AM

holy shit hustler you've got to be kidding.......

SKMetalworks 08-14-2009 12:46 AM

Add the vband EWG to that list tim. So probably around 1000 bills. Okay so we need 3 more people to do the same thing !

apariah 08-14-2009 12:53 AM

Something tells me he wouldn't kid about that sort of thing.

Sarek 08-14-2009 03:24 AM

If there's a group buy, may I get in on it? :D

edit: first post! hello everyone!!

hustler 08-14-2009 08:42 AM

I think its pretty cool that this entire forum is switching over to v-bands. We'll show the Evo faegs what's up.

I'm supposed to speak with UPS again today about cutting a check for a new turbo.

TurboTim 08-14-2009 09:16 AM

Damn Hustler...I don't know what to say.

With regards to a TiAL group buy, I have to review the 4 page minimium advertized price document. I don't think you can advertize group buys on the internet or wherever.

What I will try to do however is charge "full price" on the TiAL parts to whomever buys a manifold/downpipe from me, and sell the mani/downpipe for a lot less...same basic thing. Ultimate cost on the entire setup would be less than if I just bought the stuff from ATP like I've been doing.

On my list of definites:
GT2871 52 trim .86a/r, MV-s, flanges & clamps (the snowboarder)
MV-s, flanges & clamps (hustler)

Maybe:
.86 a/r, MV-s, flanges & clamps (sbkcocker)
BOV (hustler)

I may as well get a .64 a/r or two too, and maybe a turbo for me.

hustler 08-14-2009 09:33 AM

oh, I want one of those little tial keychains too, lol

y8s 08-14-2009 09:58 AM

you guys and your .86!!! where's my back to back dyno runs to prove this? what made y'all decide to never look at a .64 again?

incidentally, UPS will fix your shit the second you call up and ask for a supervisor and tell them they owe you the cost of a turbo. if they can't show a signature or note from you, they're fooooooked

wayne_curr 08-14-2009 11:23 AM

damnit you guys, i'm not cool enough or rich enough to play with v-band setups and its making me feel like i'm not sitting at the cool kids table at lunch lol.

hell, I still have a 1.6 diff and a stock clutch :(
