They are slightly cheaper then the GT500 injectors, I think that is the only reason. Now that the GT500 are figured out and relatively cheap I can't recommend anything else.

no. in 2008 we were still recommending rx7 injectors.

i do not subscribe to ID1000cc injectors for a sub 300rwhp car.

They're still like half the price of GT500 injectors. And work pretty well.

the gt500's nigelt is selling are under 300 and impress me way more than rx8 ones which will still be around 200-250 after cleaning and flow testing. there's also fic and five-o and others. all better than rx8 for very little more money.

Neither do I. GT500.

Agreed

Half the price? What, for used, non-flow-matched injectors? What about after you pay to have them tested, cleaned, and matched?

$300 for the best tech PNP cleaned and matched injectors. Cheapest? Not quite. Right way to do it? Yes.

You can get new rx8 injectors for like ~180. I got mine for 80 and paid 100 for flow cleaning.

I'm running GT500 injectors, and just switched in the last month so I do know what I'm talking about.

Indeed. But you switched! I feel like $300 is very reasonable for the best injector tech available at a size that supports any non-built-engine build.

I still wouldn't pass up a good deal on rx8s. They idled just fine. Someone recently said that ev6 works find on a Miata up to about 500cc. Then they get impossible to idle correctly (Why DW sucks). But my idle was just as good on them.

I bought my RX8's for $100 and dropped them in. I don't understand why people think absolutely nothing of going 200k miles on a set of stock injectors, but everyone is terrified of swapping in some much newer low mile injectors without cleaning/flow testing them. On a stock motor budget build its a perfectly reasonable option IMO and considerably cheaper than any other route.

they idle fine, or at least low 14's fine. they just hot restart bad. and not as nice as newer tech.

if they were yanked out of a running car, sure.
if they were from a junk yard, and many are, they sat in who knows what kind of conditions for who knows how long. in that case, not cleaning/testing them is just asking for trouble.

Just depends.

Latest report I've seen says the GT500's also have some hot re-start issues. Also, the pigtails seem iffy. Still, if I were going from scratch, I'd have to consider them.

I got my Yellows for $40 and it cost me about $110 to have them cleaned and flowed. Prices include shipping.

Hot re-start can be tuned for. The NB1 seems to be pretty forgiving on AFR at idle, so idle is smooth until EGO corrects to 14.7.

For me, the worst part about the Yellows on Returnless is the ugly low end non-linearity. Basically a 1.55mS pulse gives zero flow. See some of the stuff on the MS forums on NL for some plots. I am running NL small pulse corrections, mostly as a learning challenge.

In the end, I think the data exists for making Yellows work fine for what they will flow, and I think the 220 WHP is probably a good answer. BEGI could get maybe, 280?

I still plan to go to Return Fueling with 43.5 MAP reference. I still think this will only make things better.

If I were running E85, or had to swap back for emmisions, then the ID 750's sound pretty good.
