Another Injector question - Siemens Deka
 

I've been reading through a lot of builds...and haven't found anyone using 60 lb/hr Seimens Deka IV Mototron injectors...is there a reason why they would be undesirable? (...other than the connector being different...)

and it looks like you can get them as either EV-1 or EV-6

Price certainly is an interesting portion of their attractiveness...when compared to buying a set of junk-yard RX7 injectors, then having them cleaned...the pricing is getting comparable...plus they are new...and may have a better spray pattern (yes...I said may)

I've used a set in the past on another project (Saab 2.0l Ecotec turbo), with good results, but I didn't have any other comparison injectors on that car...

interesting enough to have me considering replacing my Delphi 50-lb'er

My only worry is being able to idle the injectors well on a 1.6...

ev1 and ev6 is injector types and has nothing to do with injectors from siemens.

I believe he was just referring to the connector compatibility...

I meant ev1\6 are not connectors, they are injector types from bosch.
The connector shown in the link is a minitimer connector
The other deka injectors have a USCAR connector.

Your point is what? That you keep finding people that just use ev6 and ev1 for search words in search engines? ev6, ev1 aren't connectors despite what people may say in their website. their injector types from bosch that can and have different types of connectors on the injectors.

So, if I understand your point... the marketplace generally refers to the connector based on the original connectors supplied these injector types...but that's not always the case...

For reference, what is the name of the connector on the Miata injectors?

In my last post what is the connector in the bottom picture and what is the injector type.

I would guess its liek that way because a lot of the EV1 injectors have minitimer connectors and everyone generally thinks they are refered as EV1 connectors. I've seen it on forums and in person. Just keeps going on like this because websites like that list that because either they know it as that or use it as search keywords for other people that know no better.

now what are EV14s? how do they differ? do miatas use 48mm or 60mm length?

EV14's are the newest injector type from Bosch
composite materials make up the shell of them, they also have smaller internals compared to the EV6's and overall are a better buy compared to eariler bosch injectors for people going standalone.

I'm still interested in the Siemens deka V twin spray 39lb\hr fuel injectors.
