Default Another one of those damn intercooler threads!

So, since I'm a jackass and can't help finding parts cheap, my friend is selling his GS-R Teg and parting out this turbo kit he just got....now, he has a rather large treadstone IC...a lot of honda guys use them and a few tuners/builders I have talked to LOVE them b/c of their cooling capabilities and how they tend to drop 1 psi or LESS.

Now, this thing is a little big...my intercooler that I have right now is 24x6x3.5 or so and is an ebay cooler...and is used...kinda beat up. This thing, however is like 26x8x3.5, Bar and Plate design and I could get it pretty cheap...~$100. It is about $300 new, if not more. Is that way to big for 12psi or more b/c it sure would look cool as hell. I think it will fit b/c I'm taking my AC out...but I'll have to work around the PS which should be possible. Its rated at 400 or so HP...lol :(

stick with what you have....it's already plently big enough, and the fact it's 6" high means it won't block the radiator as much. unless you really want that polished look, you aren't good to see any more temp drops....i think the rule is after 24" of runner the cooling gain is nill at best.

good thoughts...I was mainly wondering about the pressure drops, didn't think about the height covering the radiator or the weight.

Isn't that what the revlimiter is for?

no, losing momentum sucks. Try staring at the rev limiter on +100mph straights and +60mph corners

Huh? I wasn't talking about the tach. The REV LIMITER. It's pretty obvious when it's time to shift

PS: The smiley means I'm making a funny.

"losing momentum sucks" means I regarded your statement then continued to address why a shift light is good while racing. :gay: means im gay.
