Guess what?: assuming you can fabricate and build things with metal, then no kit is going to ever be the best bang-for-the-buck in your eyes!
I love my DIY kit, too, but it's not as nicely-built as a "store-bought" kit. If I was good with metal, it might have been built as nicely/well, but, then it would've "cost" a lot more of my own time and effort. It's really difficult to compare a DIY effort by someone who knows what they're doing to a kit...of course it won't seem like a deal to you!
Since you said there's "alot" [sic], what are all the other DIY benefits you can think of?
And why haven't you told us where to get brand-new ball-bearing T25s for $150? I'm seriously interested.
