Default Exhaust mock template thingys...

So, I was sitting down and watching OCC () on Discovery last night, and I saw something that was amazing.

On the Donald Trump bike that they are making, while fabbing up the exhaust, they were using these plastic template things that basically clipped together to mock up the exhaust system.

They look amazing.

I’ve looked everywhere (online) and can’t find them anywhere. Any of you lot seen them? They would be fantastic for mocking manifolds etc…

EDIT: At 2:00 you see the bag they came in, but I cant make out the company name... Anyone recognise it?

I am less excited now. 400 dollars for some plastic is upsetting me.

If you're in the business for sure good investment... if you're doing it for 1 manifold... ehh no.

I would have been the latter...

It looks like a 50 dollar set of plastic clippy things, tops. I could wear that, maybe even 100 bucks - but 400 dollars is a little rich.

They must cost about 5 dollars a set to make.

Oh i definitely agree...very overpriced. You can get similar sized crap from legoland for dimes on the dollar. They had similar sized pieces for less than a buck. Of course not round but you get the idea.

Is there something wrong with using PVC pipe for exhaust? Or paper towel rolls for manifolds?

It still really worth it if you use it to make a jig later like the video from stainless headers on how to make a header. If you're just trying to get routing and clearances then the pool hose method is much faster... but you can end up designing some impossibly hard to make stuff.
