I've been running one for close to three years now with no problems. I can't comment upon it's performance relative to a genuine garett or other size churbo as I've never driven another turbo miata, but I don't have any complaints. Someday I might upgrade to a 2560 but for now it works fine.

I have the 2854 churbo on my nb and it's alright I suppose. It'll hit 15 psi right around 4-4.5k with a begi log and a 3" exhaust. I still haven't dyno'd that sucker yet though.
It started leaking oil on the turbine side somewhere between 5-10k miles but a $40 rebuild kit fixed it.
I've never owned a Garrett, but for the money, the 2854 gets the job done.
