One's the EGR port not sure about the other - maybe Stephanie will chime in.

The fitting all the way on the left is the '99-'00 EGR port. There is no EGT bung on this manifold. :)

And on this car, the oil does come from the pressure sender. Hence, the BNPT fitting and Tee.

Got my harness in so I decided to find a home for the f/ic. Should fit here.

Did a trial fit of the patch harness that I'll be tapping into - Thanks cjernigan! You can see the velcro that I'm using to hold the f/ic.

Every fits nicely and is out of the way.

Started the car, ran for a couple of seconds, got a cel and died. One of the connectors pulled out. There's no locking mechanism on that side of the harness so I taped the connectors together and all is good. Plan to wire in the f/ic this weekend to make sure everything is working before starting the turbo install.

FIC Maps

Plan on using these maps for initial start-up. Boost will be limited to ~6psi, stock injectors, 93 octane. Feedback would be appreciated.

Did you get the connector issue figured out?
I have my MS mounted in that exact same spot.

You were right - the plugs weren't fully engaged. They locked in with some additional force. Just got to figure how to get them demated now. Thanks

Did you not get my message??????
I use a screwdriver myself. Depress the clip on the one side and use a wide blade screwdriver on the backside. Works a charm.

Got it - hard to do while laying on your back and you can't get both hands on it. I can't imagine trying to solder anything up there.

cjernigan 11-08-2007 06:42 PM

I've spent more time on my back (on the floor of my miata) then carmen electra.
My car came with a mangled ecu harness. The previous owner had chopped it to pieces and mess all kinds of things up. I had to solder much of it back together. Talk about PITA. If you remove the knee plate under the steering wheel you can easily access the ECU connectors to get at them with a screw driver.
I'm also a skinny/lanky individual, tight spaces aren't so bad for me.

Hmm keep us up dated. I'm waiting to hear if that AEM piece works on 99's if so I'm hitting it and have chad build me a harness as well!

I've got it wired in. Car runs rough but no cel. Runs fine with the bypass plug installed so I think the wiring is installed correctly. Need to troubleshoot some more. No problems with chad's harness. Ran the car a while with it installed before wiring in the FIC.

Glad to hear it. Looks good. You made the AEM harness pretty long, should tuck up under the knee panel pretty well though.

My experience was the other way around... Carmen Electra spent a whole lot more time on her back in my miata than I did. It was pretty cramped, but we managed.
