T3S60 Now, $200 T3/T4 Ebay Special on it's way... LOL.
Over here mark we dont try to spend as much money as possible, we like cheap stuff that gets the job done. A lot of the time the cheap **** gets the job done BETTER than the Disco Potato or GT2860R.

That's an ugly question... once I get my motor back I will discuss what has happened. I'm not exactly a happy camper about that situation right at the moment. Looks like I will be running an Ebay T3/T4 with a .63 A/R turbine and a "57 Trim" ebay T04E compressor with a .50 A/R, it's a chinese garrett knock off so who knows what the real specs are. The T3S60 I had got damaged slightly.

300+hp on miata is simple. gt2871R from ATP turbo (4 inch inlet)(no relation to them...)
The gt3071R is alittle sloppy on the miata. erradic boost. But my car made 331hp and 305tq with the gt3071R at 21psi. Stock motor. But i wish i would have gotten the Gt2876R becuase it is suited for our cars better.

I don't get it...is the question "what's the best Miata engine to turbo?" or "what turbo best suits the respective Miata engines and why?"

You should clarify your poll.

I think that it is very hard to come up with any difinitive answer to this question. Depends on what you are looking for really. There are a large number of different turbos that have been used, mostly sucsessfully, on the Miata, and some which just plain sucked - if all the threads that I have been reading are anything to go by.

So, the best turbo is the one that you have!

Something went through the motor, it was a stock motor but destroyed #4 and ate up the cylinder head, then debris hit the turbine wheel and damaged a few of the blades. I was supposed to get a built 2L bottom end with pauter rods and arias pistons but that's in question now. It looks like I may end up with an 1884cc bottom end and SCAT rods with Wiseco pistons. The head has been resurrected but has a serious valvetrain in it, but that's hampered by the fact that it still has stock cams. The valvetrain is good for 12,000 RPM according to R&D Valvesprings at 20 PSI of boost, the bottom end should be good for about 8,000 RPM or so and the cams... well we all know what they are good for. Compression should be right at 9:1 or so. Engine management is a TEC-IIIR with 880cc/min injectors.

Wow! What are you looking to do with all of that power output?

Yeah, Im gonna be shooting for about 350whp on 21-22psi once I get some engine management on the car. I use a Gt3271 but am going to use the 76mm compressor upgrade to have a little extra headroom to make the power on a little bit lower boost since the GT3271 is marginal above 350whp.

Where are you getting the compressor wheel and how much is it?

Thanks
